1-2 Setting Up the Spur Brackets
Bass drum spurs are included in the parts box.
Markings
Attach the spur to the spur bracket and set the bass
drum upright. As shown in Fig. 1-2A, loosening the
square-head bolt allows the spur height to be adjusted.
When adjusting the spur height, use the markings
Square-headed Bolt
on each spur bracket to place the spurs in matching
positions. Loosening the T-nut allows the spur bracket
to fix the bass drum spurs according to position (A) .
Lock Nut
When adjusting the bass drum height, make sure that
the palm of your hand fits between the floor and the
bottom of the resonant side hoop to obtain a good
Spike
sound.
As shown in Fig. 1-2A, a rubber tip or spike can be
used at tip of the spur. The spike can be used when the
drums are placed on a carpet or rug, and the rubber
tip when the drums are placed on a hard surface. The
rubber tip's position can be secured by tightening the
locknut.
IMPORTANT
* When using the spike tip, the floor underneath the carpet
for storage

damaged, use the rubber tip and make sure the spike does
not extend past the rubber tip.
