4.1| SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
To prevent the toaster being mechanically
•
switched on by mistake, the plug must always
be disconnected prior to storage.
Only connect the device to properly installed
•
earthed sockets. The wire and plug must be
dry.
Do not pull the connecting cable over sharp
•
edges or clamp it. Do not let it hang down
and protect it from heat and oil.
Never disconnect the mains plug from the
•
socket by the cord or with wet hands.
Stop using the appliance and/or disconnect it
•
from the mains plug immediately if:
The appliance or mains cable is damaged;
there is any suspicion of a fault after drop-
ping the appliance or similar.
In such cases, send the appliance to be
•
repaired.
Do not place the appliance on hot surfaces,
•
such as hot plates or similar, or near open
flames. It could melt.
Never operate the appliance unattended.

Do not operate the toaster without the crumb
•
tray inserted.
Do not move the device during operation and

5| USING THE APPLIANCE FOR
THE FIRST TIME
A few additional information before use:
This toaster is suitable for slices of bread
(up to a size of 11 x 11 cm), braided rolls
and similar baked goods with a maxi-
mum thickness of 2.6 cm. Do not use it for
baked goods with fillings or spreads, e.g.
butter or jam.
The section of the power cable not in use
can be wound up and stored on the base
of the appliance.
Prior to using your WMF MASTER Toaster for
the first time, we recommend carrying out at
least one toasting cycle without bread and at
maximum power, to remove the surface pro-
tection on the heating elements. The smell
released during this process is harmless, but
you should ensure good ventilation neverthe-
less. Always allow the appliance to cool down
a little before switching it on.
