Balancer, series 831
2.2 General
WARNING! Risk of personal injuries and/or
product damages
When using the balancer to support the ex-
haust extractor hose, the hose must return in a
steady and even manner. To check after fitting,
fully extend the hose and release. The balancer
should gently wind the hose in. When needed,
adjust the lifting power according to the fol-
lowing instruction.
3 Installation
3.1 Mounting instruction
If the balancer is used to support the exhaust extract-
or hose to Nederman exhaust rail, the balancer must
first be fitted to the rail's exhaust trolley according to
the instructions that come with the exhaust rail. Then
follow the following instructions.
Fit the balancer's cord in the hose coupling directly un-
der the cord stop as
Ensure that suitable fixing bolts are used for the bal-
ancer and that they are secure. Fit the safety chain.
The balancer is equipped with a brake which should be
in operation as long as the hose and nozzle, after the
disconnection from the vehicle exhaust pipe, are mov-
ing horizontally along the floor.
3.2 Checking the braking function
Check that the brake is disconnected 0,1 -1,0 m before
the nozzle leaves the floor and is hoisted up vertically.
See
Figure
2. The brake disconnects when the cord
presses a button on the balancer drum. See
If the brake does not disconnect at the right moment,
take the following measures:
1
Check and adjust the measure 10 - 12 mm on the
adjusting nut on the reverse side of the balancer.
See
Figure
2
Move the balancer cord stop and the cord fitting in
the hose coupling slightly upwards or downwards.
4 Using Balancer, series 831
4.1 Adjusting the lifting power
When adjusting the lifting power of the balancer, it
is important to check that the amount of spare line is
correct. For 3" dia. hose 5 turns is recommended, for
4" - 6" dia. hose 3 turns are recommended. This length
can be altered by winding line on or off the conical
drum on the balance unit. Move the line stop and hose
accordingly.
Increasing lifting power
• Pull approximately 2 metres of line off the balancer.
