Service and maintenance
The guide rails must be regularly cleaned off deposited dust. The guides should be cleaned with a vacuum
cleaner.
7.1 Replacing the splinter guard
To replace the splinter guard, proceed as follows:
1.
Pull the old splinter guard out of the guide rail
F.
2.
Use the accessory part F-SS 3.4M as new
splinter guard and cut the splinter guard to the
required length.
3.
Wet the cut splinter guard with soap water.
4.
Push a bulge of the splinter guard into the front
of the retainer.
5.
Push the second bulge of the splinter guard
irregularly, e.g. with a block of wood, into the
bottom retainer at the underside of the guide
rail. This prevents the splinter guard from being
compressed or expanded.
6.
Secure the splinter guard against slipping with
the clamping wedge included in the delivery. To
do so, push the clamping wedge into the
second bulge and then break off the handle.
Note!
Damage to the new splinter guard due to blunt saw blade
The mounted new splinter guard must be cut to size to fit the saw before the first cut.
Use a sharp saw blade to prevent the splinter guard from tearing out.
