Starting on the driver's side, remove lower cargo hook and upper push pins on both driver's and passenger's trim panels. Pull back the side panel to access Taillight wiring harness.
5.
Locate the taillight wiring connectors on both driver's side and passenger side. Disconnect the vehicle wiring harness from both taillight wiring connectors, being careful not to break the
locking tabs.
6.
On the driver's side, locate the connectors matching the end of the T-One® Connector. Insert the T-One® Connector end containing the yellow wire in between the vehicle and taillight
connector. All connector's surfaces should be clean and free of dirt. Being careful to not break locking tabs.
7.
On the Driver's side, mount the T-One® Connector Module's black box using the double-sided tape provided.
Note:
Clean flat mount surface area using a 50-50 mixture of rubbing alcohol and water to mount lighting module black box.
8.
Locate a suitable grounding point near the black box such as an existing ground stud or drill a 3/32" hole and secure the white wire using the eyelet and screw provided. (Do not drill into
vehicle floor or bed.) Clean dirt and rustproofing from area.
Verify what is behind any surface prior to drilling to avoid damage to the vehicle and/or personal injury. Do not drill into any exposed surfaces.
9.
Route the T-One® Connector end with green wire along the threshold and behind trim panel to the passenger's side taillight pocket.
10. On the passenger's side, locate the connectors matching the end of the T-One® Connector. Insert the T-One® Connector end containing the green wire in between the vehicle and taillight
connector. All connector's surfaces should be clean and free of dirt. Being careful to not break locking tabs.
11. Using a 10mm socket or wrench, disconnect and isolate the vehicle's Negative battery cable. If not removed, remove the 15-amp fuse from the fuse holder (provided).
Never cut into or attached any power wire or device to the High- Power orange line, cables or connectors. Serous injury can result.
12. After cutting the fuse holder wire, attach the ring terminal and secure to the vehicle's Positive (+) battery cable. Connect the other end of the fuse holder to the black 12 ga. wire, using
the yellow Heat Shrinkable butt connector (provided see detail).
13. Beginning from the front of the vehicle, route the black 12 ga. wire rearward along the frame rail avoiding any hot pipes, heat shields, the fuel tank or any other points that may pinch or
break the wire.
If routing the wire thru a grommet and along the exterior of the vehicle, be careful to avoid any hot pipes, heat shields, the fuel tank or any other points that may pinch or break the wire.
14. Underneath the vehicle on the driver's side, locate the grommet behind the wheel well area in the cargo floor. Slit the grommet and route the Black 12 ga. wire up through and into the
rear cargo area.
15. Connect the other end of the black 12 ga. wire to the black power wire located on the T-One® Connector Modules black box, using the yellow heat shrinkable butt connector (provided
see detail A ).
Read and follow all warnings and cautions printed on the tow vehicle's battery. All connections must be complete for the T-One® Connector to function properly. Test and verify installation
with a test light or trailer once installed. For initial test, reset vehicle electrical system by temporarily removing the key from the ignition.
Never cut into or attached any power wire or device to the High- Power orange line, cables or connectors. Serous injury can result.
16. Reconnect the vehicle's Negative (-) battery cable and install the 15-amp fuse into the fuse holder from step 11.
17. Reinstall any other items that may have been removed during installation, being careful not to pinch or cut the wires.
Note:
Route the 4-Flat harness underneath and to the center of the vehicle. Mount the 4-Flat end in an accessible location with a bracket or electrical box (not included).
Overloading circuits can cause fires. DO NOT exceed stated product ratings. Read vehicle's owner's manual & instruction sheet for additional information.
