WARNING
Danger of injury!
Remove the battery from the power tool before carrying
out any work on the power tool (e.g. maintenance, tool
change, etc.) and when transporting and storing it.
There is a risk of injury if the on/off switch is operated
unintentionally.

The on/off switch and the safety switch must not be
locked!
Do not work with the product if the switches are
damaged. The on/off switch and the safety switch
must switch off the product when released.
Make sure the product is in working order before
each use.
WARNING
Wear suitable clothing and work gloves when
working with the product.
Always wear eye protection and hearing pro-
tection.
Negligent use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
Careless use or omission of personal protective equip-
ment may result in serious injury.
WARNING
Electric shock and damage to the product
possible!
Contact with a live cable during cutting can result in
electric shock. Cutting into foreign objects can cause
damage to the cutter bar.
Scan hedges and bushes for hidden objects, such
as live wires, wire fences and plant supports, before
cutting
ATTENTION
Blunt blades overload the product! Do not use the prod-
uct if the cutters are faulty or heavily worn.
ATTENTION
Make sure that the ambient temperature does not ex-
ceed 50°C and does not fall below -20°C during work.
ATTENTION
The product is part of the 20V IXES series and may on-
ly be operated with batteries of this series. Batteries
may only be charged with battery chargers of this se-
ries. Observe the manufacturer's instructions.
9.1
Inserting/removing the battery (11)
in the battery mount (5) (Fig. 3)
Inserting the batteries
1. Slide the batteries (11) into the battery mount (5). The
batteries (11) click into place audibly.
Removing the batteries
1. Press the unlock button (10) of the battery (11) and
remove it from the battery mount (5).
9.2
Switching the product on/off and
operating it (Fig. 1)
Notes:
Before switching on, make sure that the product does not
touch any objects.
1. Before switching on the product, pull the blade guard
(9) off the cutter bar (7) (Fig. 2).
2. Press and hold down the safety switch (6) on the front
handle (2).
3. To switch on the product, push the on/off switch (4).
4. To switch it off, simply release the on/off switch (4).

Adjusting the rear clamping table

Notes:
The rear handle can be rotated 360° to the desired posi-
tion and in both directions.
There is a choice of 3 locking positions:
Locking position 1: For horizontal cuts.
Locking position 2: Rotation by 90° to the right for vertical
cuts and right-handed users.
Locking position 3: Rotation by 90° to the left for vertical
cuts and left-handed users.
1. Slide the release switch (4) on the rear handle (6)
backwards and hold it.
2. Turn the rear handle (6) to the desired locking posi-
tion.
9.4
Overload protection
Note:
In the event of overloading, the motor will switch itself off.
After a cool-down period (time varies) the motor can be
switched back on again.
10 Working instructions
WARNING
Danger of injury!
If you remove blockages with your bare hands, you may
injure yourself.
Wear protective gloves.
Use suitable tools (e.g. a wooden stick).
Notes:
Hold the product firmly with both hands during operation
to have better control over the product.
Some noise pollution from this product is unavoidable.
Postpone noisy work to approved and designated times. If
necessary, adhere to rest periods.
• Avoid abnormal postures. Keep proper footing and
balance at all times. This enables better control of the
power tool in unexpected situations.
