We care about you and your child's safety. Therefore, we
strongly recommend reading the following instructions
and warnings carefully before installing the seat.
Visual instructions on how and where to mount, and how
to use the seat and relevant accessories can be found in
the corresponding chapter and number on pages 3 - 7.
B - Instructions for mounting
1. Put the foot strap through the footstep, and pull to fix
the strap.
2. Assemble the leg protection plates together.
3. While keeping the additional retention system down
(A), mount the leg protection plates to the seat (B).
4. Check that your carrier has the MIK HD mark for Heavy
Duty use. While holding the additional retention
system (A), place the seat halfway on the carrier
mounting system. While pushing the front part down
(B), slide the front of the seat under the carrier (C).
When you cannot go further, push down the button on
the back of the seat (D), and at the same time push the
lock to the front (E) and push the seat down (F) until
you hear a click (G). Check that the seat is correctly
installed by pushing the back of the seat (H)
5. Make sure that the seat does not slope forward to
avoid your child sliding out of it. The backrest should
slope slightly backward.
6. Put the straps of the additional retention system
around the bike frame (A). Put the strap through the
belt adjuster (B) and secure the loose end with the
clip (C). Check that the belt adjuster is free from the
frame (D).
7. To demount the seat: Remove the additional retention
system (A & B). Push the safety lock down (C) and push
the clamp forward (D) while holding the safety lock
down (C). Take the seat off the carrier (E).
The seat should be installed as close to the saddle as
●
possible.
The seat cannot be attached to the seat-post unless
●
allowed by the manufacturer of the bike.
Make sure to regularly check that the seat and the
●
relevant fasteners are fully tightened and secured.
The seat should only be fitted to a suitable bike, which
●
means that the bike is appropriate for the mounting
of the specific bike seat. We advise you to check
any information supplied with the bike and (where
applicable) the luggage carrier. If it is not available, you
should seek advice from the manufacturer or supplier.
The seat is not suitable for use on a moped.
Check that all parts of the bike function correctly with
●
the seat mounted.
C - Instructions for use
1. To release the belt from the buckle, push points A and
B at the same time and remove the belt (C). Do this for
each side.
2. After placing your child in the seat, place each belt
connector into the buckle. Check that the belt is
securely fastened.
3. Fasten the safety belt firmly but not too tightly; pull
8
the belt adjuster up (A) and pull on the loose belt end
(B).
4. To loosen the restraining system, pull the belt adjuster
up (A) and pull back (B).
5. Check that the legs of your child have a perpendicular
angle (A). If not (B), adjust the footsteps to the required
height; open the lever on the back of the foot step, (C)
adjust the height, (D) and lock the lever on the back
(E).
6. Ensure your child's feet stay in place by fastening the
foot straps; Pull down and outward on the loose strap
end (A) to open the foot strap. To close the foot strap,
choose the correct height and hook the foot strap to
the footstep (B), fixing it by pulling down (C).
Check whether you are legally permitted to use the
●
seat in the country in which you intend to use it.
Your bike seat is intended for taking your child with
●
you on your bike in an everyday setting. The seat is not
suitable for sporting activities such as mountain biking
or racing.
If you are using a rear seat that is attached to a
●
luggage carrier, make sure that the load capacity
of the carrier is not exceeded. The seat should only
be fitted to luggage carriers that conform to EN ISO
11243:2016.
Do not carry a child that is too young to sit safely in the
●
seat. The seat is approved for children from 9 months
to 5 years old, with a maximum weight of 22 kg and
maximum height of 110 cm.
Only carry children that can sit unaided for an
●
extended period of time, and at least for as long as the
intended bicycle journey. Regardless of age, your child
must be able to hold their head up.
Once you have installed the seat for the first time,
●
make sure to take a brief test ride without and with
your child in a safe and quiet environment.
Check that the bike seat is not too hot in the sun
●
during nice weather before putting your child in the
seat.
Always carefully check the stability/balance when
●
placing your child into the seat on your bike.
Make sure that it is not possible for any part of your
●
child's body or clothing to come into contact with any
moving part of the seat or bike such as the wheels,
brake mechanisms, or sprung saddles. Check this
regularly as your child grows.
Always use the restraint system, ensuring the child is
●
restrained in the seat.
Make sure there are no sharp objects which your child
●
can touch, such as frayed cables.
If you are using a saddle with saddle springs on your
●
bike, make sure to cover the springs before riding your
bike with your child in the seat.
Make sure that the safety belt and foot support are not
●
loose or able to become trapped in any moving parts,
particularly the wheels, including when the cycle is
ridden without a child in the seat.
Make sure to fasten the additional retention system to
●
secure the seat to the bike at all times.
