8. Ventilation adjustment /monitoring
Efficient, secure retention of the pollutants at the hazardous material workplace is achieved through an optimum combina-
tion of inlet and exhaust air. The factory setting of the inlet air flow, recommended exhaust air flows and pressure losses can
be obtained in the technical data table (the specified values don't apply if another setting is selected). Please note:
- That the retention capacity of the hazardous material workplace depends on the inlet air speeds of the device.
- That an increase in inlet air flow is only possible with an increase in exhaust air flow, otherwise any pollutants may
be forced out of the hazardous material workplace.
- That the determination of optimised inlet and exhaust air flow ratios is significantly influenced by air movements
present at the place of erection.
Ventilation monitoring / monitoring electronics:
- Pressure measurement in exhaust and inlet air duct with integrated pressure cell and adjustable set point
- Set point adjustment in relegation to the specified (minimum) nominal air flows
- Audible and visible alarm activation (red "ventilation fault" LED illuminates) at about 10% deviation from the
specified figures.
- Red LED goes off when the nominal values are reached again.
- The audible alarm can be acknowledged with the black RESET push button
- Operation of the ventilation monitoring unit with built-in even battery even in the case of a power failure.
9. Design
- Anodised aluminium tubular frame design with painted aluminium corner connectors
- Fitted powder coated steel plate panel with underlying electronics (connection for voltage-free switch contact), air
inlet fans, extraction air connection).
- Work surface (optional) available in stainless steel ceramic or melamine resin coated board
- Side parts, rear panel and baffle plate are available in opaque or transparent versions.
- The baffle plate can be completely turned-over for cleaning purposes by loosening the threaded connector in the
upper area of the baffle wall. When doing this make sure that the work surface of the hazardous materials workplace
is free of objects beforehand.
- Anti-glare lighting inside the work area (lighting intensity approx. 1000 lx)
- Integrated air discharge rails on the upper and lower front edge for formation of the fresh air curtain (optimally set at
the factory)
10. Function
The hazardous material workplace, with its highly efficient blowing of fresh air curtains at the front and vacuum at the
rear wall, ensures that no vapours, gases or suspended solids pollute the air you breathe when handling hazardous
working materials (when filling, gluing, cleaning, preparing, weighing etc.) and that no explosive gas-air mixtures can
form inside the hazardous material workplace. The fresh air curtain blowing out at the top and bottom front edge take
away any gases, vapours or suspended solids in the direction of the baffle wall. Here they are effectively drawn through
the suction slots and fed into the exhaust system. Safe and correct functioning of the hazardous material workplace is
shown by the ventilation monitoring mechanism which is fitted as standard.
