Useextreme carein handlinggasoline and other fuels. Theyare
extremelyflammable andthe vapors are explosive.
• Useonlyanapproved container.
• Neverremovegas cap or addfuel whilethe engineis running.
Allowengine to coolat leasttwo minutes before refueling.
• Replace gasoline cap securely and wipeoff any spilledgasoline
beforestarting the engine as it may causea fire or explosion.
• xtinguish all cigarettes, c igars,pipes and other sources of igni-
tion.
• Never refuel machine indoors becauseflammable vapors will
accumulatein the area.
• Neverstore the machineor fu_l container inside where thereis
an openflame or spark such as a gas water heater, s paceheater,
or furnace.
• Neverrunanengineinside a closed area.
• To reduce fire hazard,keepmowerfreeof grass,leaves, o r other
debris build-up. C leanup oi]or fuel spillage. N low mower to cool
at least5 minutes beforestoring.
• Beforecleaning, r epairing, o r inspectin O ,makecertainthe blade
and all movingparts have stopped.Disconnect t he spark plug
wire,andkeepthewire awayfromthesparkplugto prevent a cci-
dentalstarting.
• Checkthe bladeandenginemounting bolts at frequent intervals
for propertightness. Also visuallyinspect blade for damage
(e.g., bent, cracked. Replacewith blade which meetsoriginal
equipment s pecifications.
• Keepall nuts, bolts, andscrewstight to be surethe equipment i s
in safe working condition.
• Nevertamperwith satety devices. C heck their proper operation
regularly.
• Afterstrikinga foreign object,stopthe engine,removethe wire
from the sparkplug, andthoroughly inspect t he mower for any
damage.Repairthe damage beforestartingand operating the
mower.
• Neverattempt to make a wheelor cuttingheight adjustment
whilethe engine =srunning.
• Grasscatchercomponents a re subject t owear,damage anddete-
rioration, w hichcouldexposemovingpartsor allow objects to be
thrown.Forsafetyprotection, f requentlycheckcomponents and
replacewith manufacturer's recommended parts, when neces-
sary.
• Mowerblades are sharpandcancut.Wrapthe blade(s)or wear
gloves,and useextracaution when servicing them.
• Do not changethe enginegovernorsettingor overspend the
engine.Excessive e ngine speeds are dangerous.
