• Plug the power cable into the socket (D) on the right side of the milling machine and connect it to the
mains supply (Figure 2).
• Stick the "Wear safety glasses" sticker supplied with the milling machine to an appropriate place on the
bench.
The F3 I
milling machine is now ready for use.

7 Operating instructions
7.1 Electric controls
The F3 I
is switched on with the power switch (E) on its right hand side (Figure 2). The LED (F) lights
ERGO
up to show the direction of rotation (Figure 3).
7.2 Milling spindle – Chuck
Do not change the rotary instrument until the milling spindle has been switched off and come to a
standstill. Opening the chuck clamps the milling spindle and may damage it.
To open the chuck, pull the clamping lever forwards, over the resistance, to the stop. The chuck is closed
in the reverse order.
The chuck has not been closed properly until the two spots on the milling spindle housing are
aligned.
