Allow 2" (50 mm) below the armored cable opening to clear the electric cable and allow space for
installation of the junction box on the wall at the back of the cooktop.
CAUTION
• To eliminate the risk of burns or fire by reaching over heated surfaces, cabinet storage space located
above the cooktop should be avoided. If cabinet storage is provided, risk can be reduced by installing a
range hood that projects horizontally a minimum of 5" (127 mm) beyond the face of the cabinets.
• It is very important to keep 2" (51 mm) distance between the cooktop and an oven installed below it.

Important Safety Instructions
• Be sure the cooktop is installed and grounded
properly by a qualified installer or service
technician.
• This cooktop must be electrically grounded in
accordance with local codes or, in their absence,
with the National Electrical Code ANSI/NFPA No.
70, latest edition in the United States.
Dimension/Clearance
• The electrical power to the cooktop must be shut
off while line connections are being made.
Failure to do so could result in serious injury or
death.
Providing the Electrical Connection
• Install the junction box under the cabinet and
run 120/240 or 120/208 Volt, AC wire from the
main circuit panel.
