Safe sampling
WARNING!
Bodily injury due to drilling through the sampling
material without adequate securing.
`
Use a suitable base (e.g. cutting board).
`
Use a suitable locking mechanism or secure the
sampling material against twisting and shifting.
WARNING!
Bodily injury due to entanglement of body parts,
hairs or clothes.
`
Use a hairnet if necessary.
`
Ensure to wear tight-fitting clothes.
WARNING!
Recoil of the drilling machine due to blocking of
the drill.
`
Secure the drilling machine against twisting.
`
Ensure to have enough support and stability.
CAUTION!
Moving parts on the instrument. Risk of crushing.
`
Keep hands well away from moving parts.
`
Place the borer carefully onto the sampling
material.
CAUTION!
Risk of slipping and falling due to wet or smooth
floor.
`
Ensure to have enough support and stability.
CAUTION!
`
Fire hazard! Heat development due to friction in
the sampling material.
`
Observe the temperature development in the
sampling material and the surroundings.
CAUTION!
Break out of the cutting edges during use.
`
Ensure not to drill on other materials than the
sampling material.
1. Place the drill onto the sampling material.
2. Start drilling slowly. (Direction of rotation is clock-
wise)
3. Accelerate the drill carefully.
4. Drill into the sampling material to the desired depth.
5. Pull the drill out of the sampling material.
After sampling
1. Dismount the collection tube from the drilling
machine.
2. Carefully dismantle the drill tip from the manifold.
3. Empty the sample by using the ejector into a suita-
ble collecting container.
4. Dismount the holder from the drilling machine.
5. Clean the instrument carefully.
CAUTION!
Moving parts on the instrument. Risk of crushing
when ejecting the sample.
`
Empty the sample carefully by using the ejector.
CAUTION!
Sharp parts on the instrument. Risk of injury.
`
Clean the instrument carefully.
