1.
Remove tines from forklift carriage.
2. Rotate latch lever to open position. Set left side of
upper carriage bracket on upper carriage crossbar
of forklift. (See Figure 1)
NOTE: Two holes are in the top of the upper
carriage bracket. Latch lever can be attached
to either left or right side of upper carriage
bracket.
3. Slide upper carriage bracket along carriage
crossbar. Adjust position to allow lower carriage
bracket to fit into the notch in lower carriage
crossbar of forklift. Notch is located at the center
of the crossbar. Slide the back plate to the left or
right as necessary to center the carpet pole on the
carriage.
4. Secure carpet pole to forklift carriage by closing
the latch.
NOTE: Latch lever will only rotate back to the
closed position if the latch aligns with a notch
in the upper crossbar of the forklift. If necessary,
adjust the position of the carpet pole back
plate until the latch aligns with a notch.
1.
Engage a roll of carpet by driving forklift forward
and inserting pole through center of roll. Drive
forward until the roll contacts the roll stop (see parts
diagram on page 2). User should see at least the
yellow tip of pole. The carpet roll must not be longer
than the pole. If roll is too long, use another device
to transport it.
End-users should implement a maintenance program
to ensure the product functions properly and is
adequately maintained. The OSHA "General Industry"
standard for "Powered industrial trucks" (29 CFR 1910.178)
provides recommended maintenance procedures. The
following steps should be utilized in conjunction with
those procedures. Only trained, authorized personnel
or contractors should perform inspection, maintenance
and repair work.

OPERATION
2. Raise forks only as high as necessary to lift roll of
carpet off of the ground and to avoid contact with
objects during transport. Always watch and listen to
the pole for abnormalities during use. Do not leave
a raised roll unattended. Always unload the carpet
pole before leaving the forklift.
MAINTENANCE
NOTE: End-user is responsible for selecting and
training employees to work on the carpet pole.
"Work on" means use, inspect and maintain the
product.
1. Tag the carpet pole "Out of Service."
2. Remove dirt or other matter from all surfaces.
3. Conduct a "Before each use" inspection. If deformity,
severe corrosion/rusting or excessive wear is found,
do not use the product. Permanently remove it from
service.
