Bauer P 8 T 400
Part. No. 8 698 870 061
General
The changeover device may be used only fora
combination of two projectors. These projec-
tors are fitted with a special receptable for the
changeover device.
As the sound is also changed over during the
projector-changeover there is only need for one
speaker.
Setting up the equipment
Place the two projectors (I and II) next to each
other and align them to the screen. Make a
brief test run to adjust focus, frameline and
volume.
The changeover device is fitted with two cables
and plugs which fit into the projectors I and II
jack 72.
The two loose cables are intended for the two
speaker plugs af] I, II on the changeover
device. These plugs fit into the speaker jacks 32
of projectors I and II.
The plug of the auditorium loudspeaker must
be inserted into the jack Af] of the changeover
device.
Operation
The projectors can be controlled by the
changeover device only if the main projector
switch 3 is in the » O « position.
Lace part 1 of the film into projector I. Ignite
the projection lamp and wait (see the instruc-
tion manual of the projector).
Depress key I: - projector I starts.
Depress key I Ce : - opens light cut-off on
projector I and sound is fed to the speaker.
Check focus, frameline adjustment and
volume.
Lace part 2 of the film into projector II,
ensuring that the start signal appears in the
centre of the lens. Ignite the projection lamp a
few minutes before the end of part 1.
Changeover
Upon appearance of the first changeover
signal":
Depress key II: - projector II starts.
Upon appearance of the second changeover
signal* (End of film in projector 1.):
Depress key II Ch : - projector II opens light
cut-off. The sound changes from projector I to
projector II and the motor of projector I is
stopped.
Check focus, frameline and volume.
Switch off lamp of projector I.
You can make as many changeovers as you
desire.
End of the showing
Depress key »0«: Light cut-off in projector II
closes and sound is cut off.
Key »0« also serves as quick-stop switch in case
of lamp failure etc.
Manual operation of the projector is possible
also when the changeover device is attached.
The main projector switch overrides any switch
position of the changeover device.
*Changeover signals
(Necessary only if the film does not bear such
signals.)
At the end of part I the changeover signal must
be placed about three seconds before the end
which is equivalent to 3 x 24 = 72 frames = 72
perforations.
The second changeover signal must be placed
about ten frames before the end of the film.
These signals are scratched into the corner of
one frame so that the operator can see them
clearly on the screen.
Accordingly a starting mark is put onto part II
of the film (on the leader, about 65-70 frames
before the first picture). The 72 previous
perforations are not required as the projector
does not run at 24 f.p.s. during start-up.
All further parts of the film are marked
accordingly with start and changeover signals.
Right of modifications reserved.
