4.0 Assembly and installation instructions for the "FRIDA" bed handle
4.1 Assembling and mounting the bed handle
4.1.1 Place the end piece on a flat, large surface and insert one of the two base pieces long side into
each end until you hear the safety pins click into place and they also visibly protrude from the
holes on the end piece. Both base pieces are now securely connected to the end piece.
4.1.2 Next, insert the handle part simultaneously onto the two ends of the base pieces. Again, please
check the correct engagement of the safety pins, which must visibly protrude from the handle
part to ensure a secure hold.

4.2 Installation of the bed handle in the bed
4.2.1 Raise or lower the mattress and position the bed handle "FRIDA" on the inner bed frame. The
handle section should be positioned so that the user can easily reach the handle in a lying
position. ATTENTION: Keep a distance of at least 32 cm between the handle and the head or
foot end of the bed to prevent trapping.
The handle should protrude at least 10 cm above the surface of the mattress to prevent the
user from climbing over it.
4.2.2 On the opposite side of the bed, place the strap around the end piece and attach it only to the
stable and sound bed frame.
Do not install the aid without fastening the safety belt to the bed frame or slatted frame!
4.2.3 Replace the mattress and make sure the bed handle is secure.
It is important that the bed handle is tight against the mattress!
Now the bed handle "FRIDA" can be used.
4.3 Changing the bed linen or the mattress
In general, it will not be necessary to remove the bed handle "FRIDA" for this purpose, as it only
lies on the bed base and has no fixed connection with the mattress.
4.4 Instructions for dismantling the bed handle "FRIDA" (e.g. change of bed or taking it with you when
travelling)
Lift the mattress or take it down. First loosen the strap on the end piece and the bed frame.
Remove the complete bed handle and place it on a flat surface.
Separate the handle section by pressing in the safety pins and slowly and smoothly pulling the
handle section out of both base sections. Detach the base pieces from the end piece by first
pressing in the safety pin on one side and slowly pulling out the base piece, then repeat this on
the other side.
5.0 Precautions / Warnings
For safety reasons, it is important that the following conditions are met during installation and use
in order to avoid the risk of injury or entrapment and any resulting risk of suffocation.
