INTRODUCTION

Congratulations on your purchase of another fine
product, the RDB-1 Direct Injection Box. The RDB-1 is
ideal for turning those signals that are inappropriate
for connecting to your mixer – whether they are
unbalanced, high impedance, active, etc. – and
make them usable without fear of signal degradation,
exogenous noise, hum or short circuiting. An easily
replaceable battery powers the unit, though users can
opt to use phantom power to conserve the battery '
s power for longer. The sturdy construction and high
quality components make the RDB-1 a must-have for
musicians and engineers from all walks of life.

CONTROLS AND SETTINGS

1. 1/4" Phone Jack Input
Connect your source's unbalanced 1/4" phone jack to this
input connector.
2. XLR Input
This unbalanced XLR input is included to provide the
maximum flexibility.
3. Link Output
This unbalanced output takes its signal directly from the
input connectors and is ideal for connection to the backline
input devices and studio monitors.
4. Attenuate Buttons
These buttons provide 20 dB of signal attenuation each,
making the RDB-1 ideal for high impedance microphones
and guitars (one button pushed) or even live signals from
amplifiers (both buttons pushed).

5. XLR Output
This balanced microphone-level output sends the signal
from the RDB-1 to external devices.
6. Ground Lift Button
The ground lift switch allows you to connect and
disconnect the grounding of the RDB-1's inputs and
outputs. Depending on the devices used, disconnecting
or connecting the grounding can help reduce hum and
ground loops. When the Ground Lift button is pushed in, the
grounds are not interconnected.
7. Power ON/OFF Button
This button turns the RDB-1 on and off. There are two power
modes: Battery and Phantom. Typically, the RDB-1 will use
battery power, however when phantom power between
18V and 52V is detected, the unit will automatically disable
the battery power and use the phantom power instead.
8. Battery Compartment
The RDB-1's battery is held within this compartment.
Unscrew the cover and replace the 9V battery whenever
necessary. When at all possible, Phantom Power can be
used to conserve the battery's power.
