Setting up the Xmidi 1 x 1
Connect the Xmidi x

the attached USB connector. If you use a hub, it
must be powered.
When properly connected, the Xmidi
Power LED illuminates when your computer is
on and awake. Windows users MUST install the
Xmidi x drivers from the included CD.

Windows XP Drivers
To install your E-MU Xmidi
Windows XP:
1. Connect the Xmidi
using the USB connector.
2. Insert the CD labelled "Software/Manual
Installation."
3. When the "Welcome to E-MU Software
Setup" dialog box appears, follow the on-
screen instructions.
4. If you encounter the "Windows Logo-
Testing" warning screen, click Continue

5. When prompted, restart your computer.
Your Xmidi x is now ready to use.

Mac OS X Drivers
You don't need to install any drivers for Mac
OS X. Simply connect the Xmidi
computer using the USB connector.
The Xmidi x will appear as a MIDI Device

with one In and one Out port in your Audio
MIDI Setup utility. Create and connect the ap-
propriate devices in the Audio MIDI Setup utility.
