• High grass should be cut in layers always
beginning from the top. Do not cut damp or
wet grass. Do not overload your tool.
Safety features
• The protection guard has a knife for cutting
the wire to the correct length. Do not touch the
knife to reduce the chance of injury to the user.
• Disconnect the trimmer from its power source
when transporting the machine to prevent
accidentally turning on the machine during
transport.
Switching On and Off
• To switch the trimmer on, press the safety
switch (3) and then press on/off switch (2)
• To switch off, release the on/off switch (2)
5. MAINTENANCE
Before cleaning and maintenance,
always switch off the machine and
remove the battery pack from the
machine
The machines have been designed to operate
over a long period of time with a minimum of
maintenance. Continuous satisfactory operation
depends upon proper machine care and regular
cleaning.
• Turn off the power and pull out the battery
before you clean and store the machine.
• The machine requires no additional lubrication.
• Clean the housing and other parts with a mild
cleanser and moist cloth.
• Never use aggressive cleansers or solvents.
• Prevent water from getting into the machine.
• Do not leave the trimmer resting on the floor
for extended periods as it could cause the
shape of the guard to alternate, posing a
safety risk. If possible, store the machine lying
flat.
Cleaning
Clean the machine casings regularly with a soft
cloth, preferably after each use. Make sure that
the ventilation openings are free of

dust and dirt. Remove very persistent dirt using a
soft cloth moistened with soapsuds. Do not use
any solvents such as gasoline,
alcohol, ammonia, etc. Chemicals such as these
will damage the synthetic components.

disposed of with normal household
waste. Electronic and Electrical
Equipment not included in the selective
sorting process are potentially
dangerous for the environment and
human health due to the presence of
hazardous substances. Please dispose
of responsibly at an approved waste or
recycling facility.

Do not dispose of power tools into domestic
waste. According to the European Guideline
2012/19/EC for Waste Electrical and Electronic
Equipment and its implementation into national
right, power tools that are no longer usable must
be collected separately and disposed of in an
environmentally friendly way.

quality standards and are guaranteed free of
defects in both materials and workmanship for the
period lawfully stipulated starting from the date
of original purchase. Should the product develop
any failure during this period due to defective
material and/or workmanship then contact your
FERM dealer directly.
The following circumstances are excluded from
this guarantee:
• Repairs and or alterations have been made
or attempted to the machine by unauthorized
service centers.
• Normal wear and tear.
• The tool has been abused, misused or
improperly maintained.
• Non-original spare parts have been used
