CONFIGURING AND ADJUSTING THE HBD-10V
It is recommended that a qualified and authorized Howler Sound dealer make the
following adjustments. If you decide to make the adjustments yourself, please note that
the size of the subwoofers will determine some of settings. Care should be taken when
using smaller subwoofers and /or woofers in vented enclosures. Adjusting the subsonic
filter according will ultimately yield you the best performance from your system.
1.) Balanced Line adjustment
1.) Balanced Line adjustment-This control is normally set in the factory setting as "Balanced".
In some systems, the head Unit (i.e.. Radio/CD) will look for a ground through the RCA
connections. If so, the HBD-10V jumpers should set in "Unbalanced position".
2.) The Subsonic Filter Adjustment - The subsonic filter helps to maximize the performance
and reduce damage to the woofer ty filtering out frequencies below the woofer's reproduction
capabilities. In most systems the 33Hz setting Works well. if you are using a ported enclosure
for your woofers and know the port tuning frequency, you will want to try and use the closest
frequency that matches the port tuning frequency.
3.-) Ground Solation - In rare case of alternator whine due to different levels of ground at the
radio and amplifier, we have provided alternate grounding connections to reduce the alternator
whine. Make sure to only move these jumpers with the system power off.
4.) Bass Level output -This control helps to match the HBD-10V output to match the Amplifier
and speakers capability. The idea is to match the signal output to the amplifier input to avoid
over driving the system. To make this adjustment, check the amplifier input sensitivity
specification and use the following chart.

5.)Bandwidth - This control allows adjustment of the bandwidth of the center frequency (Q
based on the center frequency). To widen the bandwidth rotate the control in the clockwise
direction. To narrow the bandwidth rotate the control in the counter clockwise direction.
6.-) center Frequency-This control allows you to select the center frequency That HBD-10V
will operate at between 25Hz and 65Hz. To raise the frequency rotate the control in the
clockwise direction. To decrease the frequency rotate the Mete the control in the counter
clockwise direction.
