Ermenrich Ping MK70 Digital Clamp Meter
EN
Please carefully read the safety instructions and the user manual before using this product. Use the device only as specified in the user
manual. Keep away from children.
The kit includes: digital clamp meter, test leads, K-type thermocouple, carry bag, user manual, and warranty.
Getting started
Open the battery compartment cover (15) and insert 3 AAA batteries according to the correct polarity. Close the cover.
Usage
Use the knob switch (6) to turn the device on and then select the required operation mode:
OFF – off position;
1000 A≂, 60/600 A≂ – AC/DC measurement (with VFD/Inrush function);
V≂ – AC/DC voltage measurement (with VFD function);
Hz% – frequency and duty cycle measurement;
– resistance measurement, continuity test, diode test, and capacitance measurement;
°C/°F – temperature measurement;
LoZ V≂ – low impedance AC/DC voltage measurement;
NCV/LIVE – non-contact voltage and live wire detection.
Press the FUNC button (7) to switch between the functions. When the device is off, press and hold (7) for 3 seconds to enable/disable the
auto-off option, and then observe the corresponding symbol on the screen. When the auto-off option is enabled, the device will automatically
turn off in 15 minutes.
Press the RAN button (8) to switch to manual mode and select the required measurement range. Press and hold (8) for 3 seconds to restore
auto-ranging (used by default).
Press the MAX/MIN button (9) to switch between maximum and minimum values (for current, voltage, resistance and temperature
measurements only). Press and hold (9) for 3 seconds to exit this function.
Press the REL/ZERO button (10) to measure relative values, store the existing readings, and reset the display to zero (for DC measurement
mode only).
Press the H/Light button (14) to hold the display readings (H appears on the screen). Press and hold (14) for 3 seconds to turn the flashlight
on/off.
AC/DC measurement (with VFD/Inrush function)
Turn the knob switch (6) to the 1000 A or 60/600 A position according to the current measurement limit. Press the FUNC button (7) until
AC or DC appears on the screen. Press the trigger (5) to open the clamps (2) and fully enclose the conductor to be measured. Then, slowly
release the trigger (5). In order to ensure the measurement accuracy, the measured conductor must be placed in the center of the clamps.
When measuring the DC, press and hold REL/ZERO button (10) for 3 seconds to set the remaining magnetization to zero. The device will
beep and ZERO will appear on the screen. The measurement results will appear on the LCD screen (11).
To eliminate high frequency noise during the AC measurement using a low-pass filter, press (7) until VFD (Variable frequency drive filtering)
appears on the screen.
To measure inrush current, press (7) 3 times until INRUSH (Inrush current) appears on the screen.
The measurement time of inrush current is about 100ms.
For the following measurements using test leads, turn the knob switch (6) to the appropriate position. Plug the black test lead into the
COM jack (12) and the red test lead into the INPUT jack (13).
AC/DC voltage measurement (with VFD function)
Turn the knob switch (6) to the V or LoZ V position. Press (7) until AC or DC voltage appears on the screen. Connect the probes to the
measuring points. The measurement results will appear on the LCD screen (11).
The maximum continuous measurement time of low input impedance is 1 minute.
High input impedance is approx. 10MΩ, low input impedance is approx. 300kΩ.
When measuring the AC voltage using a low-pass filter, press (7) until VFD (Variable frequency drive filtering) appears on the screen.
Frequency and duty cycle measurement
Turn the knob switch (6) to the Hz% position. Connect the probes to the measuring points or in parallel to the circuit to be measured. The
measurement results will appear on the LCD screen (11).
Resistance measurement
Turn the knob switch (6) to the
points of circuit or resistor. The measurement results will appear on the LCD screen (11).
Before measurement, make sure that the power supply is disconnected and the capacitor in the circuit is completely discharged.
position. Press (7) until MΩ appears on the screen. Connect the probes to the resistance measuring
