Basic Safety Instructions
• The appliance is intended to be used in household only and similar environments like:
- staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments,
- in farm houses,
- by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments
- on bed and breakfast type environments.
• Repairs of Cloer electronics appliances should be carried out only by the Cloer customer
service. Improper repairs can involve substantial dangers for the user. Moreover, this will void
your warranty claims.
• Operate the appliance only at household-usual power sockets. Check if the mains voltage
stated on the type plate is up to that of your power supply network.

• The appliance should be connected to a protective grounding conductor.
• If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by Cloer in order to avoid damage.
• Pull power plug of the power socket
- in case of a defect
- if the appliance is not used for a longer time
- before any cleaning.
• Only pull at the plug, never at the feed cable.
• Do not stretch the feed cable over sharp edges and do not tighten it too tight, do not use the
feed cable for carrying and protect it from heat (hotplate, for example).
• This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and people with reduced
physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been
given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand
the hazards involved.
• Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 and
supervised. Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children less than 8 years to avoid
they play with it.
• Do not use the appliance outdoors.
• Use the electric kettle only with the provided base station.
• More information about proper cleaning on the following pages.
• Do not immerse appliance or base in water and do not clean under running water.
• Use the product only to cook water. An improper use of the appliance may lead to serious
injuries.
• Do not use the kettle without the lime filter and only with the closed lid. Otherwise, the kettle
will not turn off automatically once the water boils.
• Do not fill the appliance over the MAX mark since there is risk of burns if the water spills over.
• Avoid water spills on the base station. If this occurs, proceed as follows:
- Pull the power plug of the power socket.
- Dry the base station with a dry absorbent paper towel.
- Dry the Surface where the appliance is.
- Connect the power plug again.
• Please do not open the lid during the boiling process or immediately after it.
• ATTENTION: The kettle will become extremely hot during the process only grasp the handle
of the kettle.

Before the first use
• Read these operating instructions carefully before
using the appliance for the first time.
• Remove all packaging elements and stickers, but not
the rating plate.
• Place the electric kettle on a dry, flat, nonslip surface.
• Pour away the water of the first use.

Operation
• Plug the appliance into the wall socket.
• Separate the kettle from the electrical base.
• Open the lid by pressing the button
• NOTE: for your safety, the lid is equipped with a lo-
cking mechanism. For example, in case the kettle falls
or tips over during the process the lid will remain clo-
sed to avoid hot water emerges. This way, the risk of
burn will be reduced.
• Fill up the kettle with water
• Close the lid by hand.
• MAKE SURE the water does not exceed the MAX
mark of the water level indicator. (4110/4111= 1,7l,
4120/4121 = 1,2l).
• Replace the kettle onto the basis station.
• The appliance is ready to be used.
• Press the on/ off button located under the handle.
The control light will light up.
• Once the water boils the kettle and the control light
will automatically turn off. The process can be stop-
ped any time by pressing up the on/off button.
• Raise the kettle from the base station to pour out
the water.
• IMPORTANT: make sure the appliance is off before
lifting the kettle off the base station.
Overheating Protection
The kettle has a double protection in case of overhea-
ting. If you turn on the appliance accidently without
water or with insufficient water, this security feature
will turn off the appliance automatically. Once the
kettle is refilled with cold water the appliance will be
prepared to be used again.
Cleaning
• ATTENTION: do not clean the appliance under run-
ning water and do not immerse the appliance in water!
• Do not clean the appliance with abrasive cleaning
agents since these could damage the kettle.
• Remove stronger stains (water stains, fingerprints
etc.) with lukewarm water and a cloth.
• The lime filter is in the inner part of the kettle directly
under the pouring lip. (Photo 1).

• To take it out, press downwards the corners with both
thumbs (Photo 2). Finally, remove the filter upwards.
• Clean the lime filter with some rinse water and set it
again. Set this filter with the notch underneath (Pho-
to 3) in the kettle until it locks.

Decalcification
• It is advisable to decalcify to the appliance when
using calcareous water (depending on the degree of
hardness of the water, between 1-3 weeks). A regular
decalcification will assure constant quality, low elec-
trical consumption and a longer life of the appliance.
Use for this a normal liquid descaler and read the se-
curity safety.
• Tipp: if the water does not contain too many lime,
you can mix 5-6 tablespoons vinegar with 0,5l of wa-
ter as descaler.
• ATTENTION: do not cook this mix. Rinse the applian-
ce a couple of times after the decalcification.

The lime quantity in every region is different.
You can ask your water company to know
the hardness of water in your region.
