Wet the coffee filter before brewing to remove unwanted papery flavors.
•
Adjusting the flow control aperture can affect the contact time and taste of the coffee.
With less circulating motion the water will flow through faster, which can result in an
under-extracted coffee.

It is recommended to use fresh coffee (within two weeks of the roast date). For best
results, the coffee you use should be ground as close to the start of brewing as pos-
sible.
•
For even hotter coffee, the coffee carafe can be rinsed with hot water before brewing.
Cleaning
Note: Always unplug the appliance before cleaning.
How to clean the hot water system
It is recommended to clean the unit every 14 days, if using the unit on a daily basis.
Cleaning the unit regularly will ensure optimal operation of the unit and secure the best
possible taste. IMPORTANT: Only use cleaning agents intended for coffee makers.

Follow the instructions given on the package for the cleaning agent.
•
Remember to run two brewing cycles with clean water after the cleaning process.
How to clean base and parts
•
When needed, the exterior of the unit should be cleaned with a damp cloth without
any additives.
•
The filter holder, coffee pot and lid can be washed in hot soapy water or placed in the
top rack of the dishwasher.
•
Never wash other parts of the device in the dishwasher. Never use strong detergents,
scouring powders, steel wool or other release agents on any part of the brewer.
•
Do not clean the pot or heating plate with cleansers, steel wool pads or other abrasive
materials.
