Preparations Before Use
Set scale to measure in pounds or kilograms; use
kg
lb
the switch located on the bottom of the scale.
Inserting the Batteries
Locate the battery cover on the bottom of the scale.
Press the tab to release the cover. Insert 4 AA alkaline
batteries as indicated.
Note: When you insert the battery, make sure that the negative
end touches flat to the spring.
Note: For best results, use alkaline batteries. Do not mix alkaline
and manganese batteries together. Avoid using rechargeable
batteries.
Important Notes
• Do not get the scale wet or store in a humid place.
• The scale is a precision instrument—do not drop it,
jump on or drop heavy objects onto it.
• Do not dismantle or adjust the scale.
• When pressing the On/Tare button, do not hold it
down. This will cause the "Err" (error) message to
appear on the display.
Taking Weight Measurement
Turn on the power by pressing the On/Tare button.
(The display will flash all items.)
"00000" will appear on the display.
Wait for the display to read "0 0.0" and place the baby
on the scale (within 60 seconds).
Display will show weight.
After a few seconds, the display will return to "0 0.0"
and turn off automatically.
Tare Function
The Tare function allows you to weigh the baby with
another item (i.e. towel or blanket) without skewing the
actual weight of the baby.
Turn on scale.
Place item (i.e. towel or blanket) on the baby tray.
Press the On/Tare button to reset scale to "0 0.0".
Place baby on the scale.
Note: When the total weight of item and baby's weight exceeds
40 lb or 20 kg, the display shows "OL" (overload).
Replacing Batteries
If "LO" appears on the display, batteries are running
down and need to be replaced. If nothing appears on the
display the batteries are dead and need to be replaced.
