15. Keep hands away from the chip discharge channel.
If the channel is blocked, first the electric tool must be
switched off and allowed to come to a complete
standstill. After that, the chips may be removed.
16. Damaged power supply cords must be replaced
immediately by a specialist.
17. Unauthorized use of this product anyway may lead
to a personal injury.
18. Repairs shall be carried out by the qualified personnel
only.
19. Use only the original spare parts.
20. Use safety glasses and ear protection.

Remaining risks

Even when the electric tool is used properly and all the
relevant safety measures are followed, the following remai-
ning risks can still occur due to the design of the electric
tool required for the intended working operations:
– Contact with the chain cutter in the cutting area;
– Injury by the sharp cutting edges during replacement of
cutting tools;
– Clothing can be caught by the rotating parts;
– Kickback of the electric tool;
– Pieces of the workpiece may be thrown away;
– Hazards invited by the flexible supply cord;
– Even during proper use, risks of some specific accidents
or damages cannot be anticipated.
Assembly of the guide frame
– Insert the scaled guide arm (2), using the end with
threaded holes, into its mounting hole on the side
of the base plate (1).
– Turn the guide arm until the scale faces upwards and
the thread holes correspond with both the through holes
of the base plate.
– Tighten both the screws with inner-hexagon heads (3).
– Put the lateral guide fence on the guide arm and fix it
tightly with the locking lever.
– Remove the screw with inner-hexagon head (9) and the
washer (10) from the round end of the guide rod (11)
for parallel fence attachment.
– Insert the guide rod in the hexagonal hole of the clam-
ping fixture and push as far as possible.
– Replace the screw with inner-hexagon head and
the washer on the guide rod and tighten the screw.
– Tighten the guide rod by means of the locking lever (12).
– Unscrew the hexagon nut (4) from the vertical guide rod.
GB
The parallel fence (13) can be placed in a parking position
during work if interfering with the workpiece. To do this,
perform the following:
– Loosen the locking lever (12)
– Pull the parallel fence out as far as possible and
disengage it by swiveling sideways
– Push the parallel fence back and retighten the locking
lever.
Preparing and installation
of the chain mortiser
– Before installation of the electric tool, remove the plug
from the mains socket.
– Put the chain cutting tool for groove cutting in place.
Make sure that only chain cutting tools designed for
grooving depths of 100 - 300 mm are installed. Any
other sizes of the chain cutting tools are prohibited
for application with this guide frame. Otherwise safety
of the electric tool is no longer guaranteed and
the manufacturer is not liable for damages resulting
from such application.
– Loosen the locking lever which fixes the lateral guide
of the chain mortiser in place, push the lateral guide
back from the chain and remove forwards.
– Place the chain mortiser in the guide frame from above.
Be careful to insert the mortiser evenly, without force.
If the mortiser gets seized, remove it upwards from the
frame and repeat the procedure.
– Screw the hexagon nut (4) back and tighten slightly.
(Figures 1 to 3)
– Slightly tighten the locking lever of the chain mortiser
adjacent to the motor bracket.
Important: The instructions concerning chain cutters
and replacement of chain cutting tools, included in the
Operating Manual for the chain mortiser CMP 150,
must be followed.
Operation
The guide frame is fitted with a pneumatic spring which
can be connected or disconnected (see below). When
working with the pneumatic spring connected, the feed
force required for cutting remains constant from the
beginning down to the full depth of groove. At the end
of cutting operation, the electric tool is retracted back
in the initial position.
For certain applications or by reason of reaching the full
cutting depth with the guide frame, it is necessary to
disconnect the pneumatic spring.
The adjustment ring (5) can be fixed in place by means
of the fixing screw (6) and thus the depth of groove can
be steplessly adjusted.
In this case, the depth gauge of the chain mortiser is no
