longer needed and can be pulled to the top and locked
in place.
The distance between mortice and the stopping face of
the workpiece is adjusted according to the scale on the
guide arm for lateral fence of the guide frame. Use the
reading line on the lateral guide fence which corresponds
to the slot length produced by the chain cutting tool
installed (for 40 mm or 50 mm).
Cutting vertical grooves
For cutting vertical grooves into a wooden beam, adjust
the distance between the groove and sidewall of the
workpiece by means of the parallel fence.
Cutting horizontal grooves
For cutting grooves in the face of a wooden beam or
horizontal grooves, place the guide frame with the parallel
fence on the guiding face of workpiece. Adjust the distance
between the groove and the guiding face of workpiece
beforehand, using a standard gauge. Two spikes on the
parallel fence prevent its slipping during cutting operation.
If necessary, penetration depth of the spikes can be adjusted.
Connecting of the pneumatic spring
Switch the electric tool off and wait until the chain cutter
comes to a complete standstill.
– Using the front handle, lift the chain mortiser upwards
to touch the hexagon nut (4) and hold it in that position.
– Turn the rotary closure (7) so that the mark on the closure
is aligned with the mark on the guide tube (8).
– At this position, press the rotary closure completely down
and turn it right as far as possible.
– The pneumatic spring is connected. Slowly press the
electric tool down until retraction force exerted by the
spring is experienced.
Warning: If the connection procedure is not accomplished
properly, the pneumatic spring can disconnect unexpectedly.
Danger of damage to the cutting tool or the chain mortiser!
Danger of accident!
Disconnecting of the pneumatic spring
Switch the electric tool off and wait until the chain cutter
comes to a complete standstill.
– Using the front handle, lift the chain mortiser upwards
to touch the hexagon nut (4) and hold it in that position.
– Press the rotary closure completely down and turn it left.
The pneumatic spring is disconnected. Now the electric
tool must now be continually held in the guide frame.
Warning: Dropping of the electric tool may cause damage
to the cutting tool or the chain mortiser.
GB
Danger of accident after switching the electric tool on!
– Now it is possible to work freely with utilizing the full
cutting depth.
Important: The chain cutter is a rotating tool. Cutting edges
of the chain cutter can work both during descent and
ascent. See the direction of rotation marked with the arrow
on the safety guard.
Side thrust of the cutting tool must always be compensated
by means of the lateral guide. Danger of accident! If a large
mortice is made by plunging the chain cutter into the work-
piece side by side, it is recommended to proceed in accor-
dance with Figure 5.
Maintenance and care
Both the vertical guide rods must be protected against
rusting by regular lubrication.
Storage
Packed tools may be stored in dry unheated storerooms
with temperatures not dropping below – 5 °C. Unpacked
electric tools shall be stored only in dry self-contained
storerooms with temperatures not dropping below + 5 °C,
(Figure 4)
where sudden temperature changes are prevented.
Recycling
After their service life is ended, submit the tool, its
accessories and packages to a disposal premise to allow
reusing of the raw materials.
To allow material-sorted recycling, all plastic components
are marked with relevant symbols.
Repairs and servicing
Repairs in the warranty and post-warranty periods are
carried out by the servicing workshops listed in the index
of addresses.
