6. Before use

NOTE
Read the operating instructions for the diamond core

drilling machine.
6.1 Mounting the carriage on the column
1. Release the clamping lever.
2. Slide the carriage onto the column from below.
3. Lock the carriage on the column by tightening the
clamping lever.
6.2 Fitting the column with carriage to the base
plate
1. Insert the column into the base plate.
2. Use the two retaining screws to secure the column
to the base plate.
6.3 Fitting the ceiling plate to the column
1. Fit the ceiling plate onto the column from above.
2. Use the two retaining screws to secure the ceiling
plate to the column.
6.4 Fitting the carriage (DD-HD30-CA, item no.
284640) and end stop to the rail
1. Slide the carriage (DD-HD30-CA) onto the rail.
2. Insert the centering point into the end of the rail.
(The DD-HD30-WCH water collector holder may
also be fitted as an accessory.)
3. Push the eccentric bolt into the hole.
4. Tighten the eccentric bolt securely.
5. Fit the supplied DD-HD30-ES end stop at the other
end of the rail.
6.5 Fitting the rail with centering point to the
carriage
1. Release the two clamping screws.
2. Slide the rail into the clamping piece on the car-
riage.
3. Tighten the two clamping screws.
6.6 Bracing or releasing the column
CAUTION
When releasing the column, take care to ensure that
your fingers are not between the fixed and moveable
parts of the column.
6.6.1 Bracing the column
1. Press the lever for rapid extension/retraction of
the column and extend the column until it contacts
the ceiling.
2. Brace the column by turning the adjusting screw.

6.6.2 Releasing the column
3. Release the column by turning the adjusting screw.
4. Press the lever for rapid extension/retraction of
the column and retract the column as far as it will
go.
6.7 Adjusting the position of the rail (slew
movement)
1. Support the rail and release the locking screw until
the rail is free to move.
2. Slew the rail to the desired position.
3. Tighten the locking screw.
6.8 Rotating the rail
1. Release the securing screw.
2. Rotate the rail to the desired position.
3. Tighten the securing screw.
6.9 Lifting or lowering the rail
1. Release the clamping lever.
2. Move the carriage up or down by turning the car-
riage advance (square drive).
3. Lock the carriage on the column by tightening
tighten the clamping lever.
6.10 Sliding the rail past the column
1. Release the two clamping screws.
2. Slide the rail in its guide into the desired position.
3. Tighten the two clamping screws.
6.11 Bracing the centering point
1. Rotate the centering point to brace it against the
work surface. This must be done before beginning
drilling.
6.12 Drilling
NOTE
Read the operating instructions for the diamond core
drilling machine.
1. Check to ensure that all joints and connections on
the cross-column adaptor are free of play.
6.13 Bringing the cross-column adaptor into the
parking position
1. Release the clamping lever.
2. Move the carriage upwards by turning the square
drive. There must be sufficient space for the low-
ered rail between the base plate and the carriage.
3. Lock the carriage on the column by tightening the
clamping lever.
4. Release the securing screw.
5. Rotate the rail around the column until positioned
on the side of the column farthest from the trans-
port wheels.
6. Tighten the securing screw.
