4 Aufstellmöglichkeiten
Der Verstärker ist für den Einschub in ein Rack
(482 mm/19") vorgesehen, kann aber auch als
Tischgerät verwendet werden. In jedem Fall muss
Luft ungehindert durch alle Lüftungsschlitze strö-
men können, damit eine ausreichende Kühlung
gewährleistet ist.
4.1 Rackeinbau
Für die Rackmontage werden 2 HE (Höheneinhei-
ten) = 89 mm benötigt. Dabei sollte jedoch ober- und
unterhalb des Verstärkers zusätzlich Platz frei blei-
ben, damit eine ausreichende Belüftung sicherge-
stellt ist.
Damit das Rack nicht kopflastig wird, muss der
Verstärker im unteren Bereich des Racks einge-
schoben werden. Für eine sichere Befestigung
reicht die Frontplatte allein nicht aus. Zusätzlich
müssen Seitenschienen oder eine Bodenplatte das
Gerät halten.
5 Verstärker anschließen
Alle Anschlüsse dürfen nur bei ausgeschaltetem
Gerät hergestellt werden!
3 Applications
With its three power amplifiers, the unit is suitable
for versatile applications. It can be switched as a
stereo system with subwoofer support, as a satel-
lite/subwoofer combination, or, e. g. for PA applica-
tions of different rooms, as three mono channels of
independently adjustable volume. The crossover
frequency of the internal crossover network and the
extent of the bass boost (SUB BOOST) can be se-
lected. Extensive protective circuits protect the
amplifier and the connected speakers.
Three examples of application are shown on page 3:

4 Setting-Up
The amplifier is designed to be mounted into a rack
(482 mm/19"), but it may also be used as a table top
unit. In any case air must be allowed to move freely
through all air vents so that a sufficient cooling is
ensured.
4.1 Rack installation
For the rack mounting 2 rack spaces = 89 mm are
required. Additional space should remain above and
below the amplifier in order to ensure sufficient ven-
tilation.
5.1 Signalquelle
An die XLR-Buchsen oder Klinkenbuchsen INPUT
(11 und 12) den linken und rechten Ausgang eines
Vorverstärkers oder eines Mischpultes anschließen.
Für die Betriebsart MONO nur den linken Eingang
LEFT/MONO (11) anschließen. Alle Anschlüsse
sind für symmetrische Signale beschaltet; die Kon-
taktbelegungen sind in den Abbildungen 3 und 4
dargestellt. Da die beiden Buchsen eines Eingangs
direkt verbunden sind, kann auch ein Eingangssig-
nal, das in die XLR-Buchse eingespeist wird, von
der Klinkenbuchse desselben Eingangs abgenom-
men und mit dem Eingang eines weiteren Verstär-
kers verbunden werden.
Das Eingangssignal sollte Line-Pegel aufweisen.
Für eine Vollaussteuerung des Verstärkers ist ein
Eingangssignal von mindestens 0,775 V erforderlich.
Steht am Ausgang der Signalquelle nur ein asym-
metrisches Signal zur Verfügung, kann der Ausgang
auch mit Mono-Klinkensteckern an die Klinkenbuch-
sen angeschlossen werden. Über einen Adapter ist
es auch möglich, einen asymmetrischen Ausgang an
die XLR-Buchsen anzuschließen. In dem Adapter
müssen die XLR-Kontakte 1 und 3 verbunden sein
(z. B. eignen sich die Cinch/XLR-Adapter NTA-114,
NTA-214 und NA-2MPMF von MONACOR).
5.2 Lautsprecher
Je nach gewünschter Betriebsart (siehe Kapitel 6.1)
die Lautsprecher an die SPEAKON
anschließen:
Betriebsart SUB/SAT
Den Basslautsprecher (SUBWOOFER) an den
Ausgang von Kanal CH1 (13) und die beiden Mit-
tel-Hochton-Lautsprecher (SATELLITE) an die
Ausgänge von Kanal CH2 (14) und CH3 (15)
anschließen.
Betriebsart SUB/FULL
Den Basslautsprecher (SUBWOOFER) an den
Ausgang von Kanal CH1 (13) und die beiden
Breitband-Lautsprecher (FULL RANGE) an die
Ausgänge von Kanal CH2 (14) und CH3 (15)
anschließen.
In order to prevent that the rack becomes top-
heavy, the amplifier has to be mounted in the lower
part of the rack. The front plate alone is not sufficient
as a secure fastening. The unit has to be additionally
supported by side rails or a bottom carrier plate.
5 Connecting the Amplifier
All connections must only be made if the unit is
switched off!
5.1 Signal source
Connect the left output and the right output of a pre-
amplifier or mixer to the XLR jacks or 6.3 mm jacks
INPUT (11 and 12). For the operating mode MONO
only connect the left input LEFT/MONO (11). All
connections are designed for balanced signals; the
contact configurations are shown in figures 3 and 4.
As the two jacks of an input are directly connected,
an input signal, which is fed in the XLR jack, can
also be picked up from the 6.3 mm jack of the same
input and be connected to the input of another
amplifier.
The input signal should have line level. For rated
power of the amplifier an input signal of 0.775 V is
required as a minimum.
If only an unbalanced signal is available at the
output of the signal source, the output can also be
connected with 6.3 mm mono plugs to the 6.3 mm
jacks. Via an adapter it is also possible to connect
an unbalanced output to the XLR jacks. The XLR
contacts 1 and 3 must be connected in the adapter
(e. g. the phono/XLR adapters NTA-114, NTA-214,
and NA-2MPMF from MONACOR are suitable).
5.2 Speakers
Depending on the desired operating mode (see
chapter 6.1) connect the speakers to the SPEA-

Die Kontaktbelegung der Anschlussstecker ist in
Abb. 6 gezeigt. Es kann das Kontaktpaar 1+/1- oder
2+/2- belegt werden, da an jeder Buchse die Kon-
takte 1+ mit 2+ und 1- mit 2- verbunden sind.
Die größte Ausgangsleistung wird beim An-
schluss von 4-Ω-Lautsprechern erreicht. Es können
auch 8-Ω-Lautsprecher angeschlossen werden,
was die Ausgangsleistung aber etwas verringert.
In der Tabelle Abb. 5 sind Anschlussmöglichkei-
ten für einen oder mehrere Lautsprecher an einem
Ausgang aufgeführt. Dazu ist jeweils angegeben,
welche Nennbelastbarkeit (P
bei entsprechender Impedanz (Z) mindestens
haben muss. Beim Anschluss auf die richtige Polung
aller Lautsprecher achten und auch bei nicht in der
Tabelle aufgeführten Lautsprecherkombinationen
darauf achten, dass die Gesamtimpedanz an jedem
Ausgang mindestens 4 Ω beträgt.
5.3 Stromversorgung
Den Stecker des Netzkabels (18) in eine Steckdose
(230 V~/50 Hz) stecken. Vor dem ersten Einschalten
die Lautstärkeregler (4 – 6) ganz nach links drehen.

6 Bedienung
6.1 Betriebsart wählen
Mit dem Schalter MODE (10) wird die gewünschte
Betriebsart gewählt:
6.1.1 SUB/SAT (vgl. Abb. 7)
Diese Betriebsart unterstützt ein 2-Wege-System
mit Stereo-Satelliten (Mittel-Hochton-Lautsprecher)
und einem Mono-Subwoofer (Tiefton-Lautsprecher).
Mit dem Schalter X-OVER (8) kann die Trennfre-
quenz der integrierten Frequenzweiche entspre-
chend den Eigenschaften der verwendeten Laut-
sprecher gewählt werden: 80 Hz, 120 Hz oder 180 Hz.

Connect suitable speakers to the outputs of all
channels (13 to 15) for the reproduction of the
mono signal used.
The contact configuration of the connection plugs in
shown in fig. 6. The contact pair 1+/1- or 2+/2- may
be connected as the contacts 1+ and 2+, and 1- and
2- are connected at each jack.
The maximum output power is obtained when
connecting 4 Ω speakers. It is also possible to
connect 8 Ω speakers, however, the output power
will slightly decrease in this case.
Table 5 shows the connecting possibilities for one
or several speakers at one output. It is indicated in
each case which power rating (P
should have as a minimum with the corresponding
impedance (Z). When connecting the speakers, pay
attention to the same polarity of all speakers. Also in
case of speaker combinations which are not listed in
the table, pay attention that the total impedance is
4 Ω as a minimum at each output.
5.3 Power supply
Connect the plug of the mains cable (18) to a socket
(230 V~/50 Hz). Prior to the first switching-on, turn
the volume controls (4 to 6) to the left stop.
