Operating Instructions
Pre-Operation
(Continued)
Use Campbell Hausfeld airtool oil (Part
No. ST127000AV) to lubricate, clean
and inhibit rust in one step. Failure to
lubricate and maintain an air tool
properly will dramatically shorten the
life of the tool and will void the
warranty. This air tool requires
lubrication before initial use and
before and after each use.
How to lubricate tool:
1. Disconnect the tool from air supply.
2. Turn the tool with the air inlet
pointing upward.
3. With the trigger pulled, add a
teaspoon of oil to air inlet fitting.
4. Release trigger and connect the air
hose. Cover exhaust port with a rag,
then run tool for approximately 20
seconds.
5. Wipe the tool clean.

port with a rag and
then apply air pressure. Failure to cover
exhaust port will allow oil mist to be
sprayed from the tool, which might
result in damage to workpiece and
cause personal injury.
Operation
Follow the previous safety instructions.
Check for proper system setup and
connection of the tool.
INSTALLING AND CHANGING
CUTOUT BITS
To install or change cutout bits:
1. Disconnect air hose.
2. Use one collet wrench to hold the
spindle, and the other collet wrench
to turn the collet nut
counterclockwise. A couple rotations
counterclockwise are all that is
needed. If not already installed,
remove collet nut and install 1/8"
collet for supplied 1/8" cutout bits.
Replace collet nut.
3. If you must first remove a bit already
installed and it does not easily pull
out at this point, lightly tap on the
spindle with a collet wrench. Remove
bit.
4. Insert the bit into the collet leaving
1/16" to 1/8" of smooth shank visible
above the collet. NOTE: Bit flutes are
sharp; handle with care.
5. After properly placing the bit into
the collet, tighten collet nut
clockwise by hand, then tighten with
collet wrenches, as in step 2 above.

removed from the
tool for storage, do not tighten the
collet nut. Tightening the collet nut on
an empty collet will cause the collet
hole to become smaller, preventing you
from inserting a bit in the future.
DEPTH GUIDE
To attach the depth guide:
1. Remove the wingnut and washers
from the attachment set screw.
2. Insert the attachment set screw into
the depth guide slot.
3. Place flat washer on attachment set
screw, followed by lock washer and
then wingnut. Firmly finger tighten
wingnut.
To adjust the depth guide:
1. Loosen the wingnut by turning
counterclockwise.
2. Slide depth guide up or down to the
desired depth of your cut. It is best
to allow the cutting bit to be 1/16"
greater than the material you are
cutting.
3. Turn wingnut clockwise to tighten.

USING THE TOOL
1. Check that all parts are tight and
safety equipment is in place before
turning on the tool.
2. Attach air hose.
3. Hold tool firmly and turn it on.
NOTE: For drywall (using a drywall
cutout bit) slide the tool in a
counterclockwise direction.
4. After completing the cut, turn off
the tool and carefully remove it from
the work surface.
NOTE: This tool can be set for a
continuous run operation. In this mode
the tool regulator will function as an
on/off valve. Continuous Run: Squeeze
the throttle lever and while tool is
running, turn the regulator knob until
the tool stops spinning. With level still
squeezed, unscrew the throttle screw
until it stops (allen wrench is provided).
Turn regulator knob until the desired
speed is reached.
NOTE: Because of the rotating cutting
action of the bit, you will feel a slight
pull when cutting. The slower you cut,
the more control you have. Excessive
force will cause excessive heat and may
shorten the life of the bit.
NOTE: When cutting on a vertical
surface, avoid ending your cut at the
bottom of a hole. If possible, start and
end your cut at the top so scrap
material will not drop onto the
rotating bit.
