This 13.8 V DC power supply is electroni-
cally regulated as well as overload protected
by a foldback current limiting and a short-cir-
cuit proof. A 130°C thermo fuse secures the
two-chamber safety transformer at the pri-
mary side. There is an internal fine adjust-
ment for the output voltage and the thresh-
old for the foldback circuit. The max. current
delivery is indicated in the specifications.
Safety Notes
This appliance corresponds to the directive
for electromagnetic compatibility 89/336/EEC
and the low voltage directive 73/23/EEC.
This unit uses dangerous mains voltage
(230 V~). To prevent a shock hazard do
not open the cabinet. Leave servicing to
authorized skilled personnel only. Further-
more, any guarantee claim expires if the
unit has been opened.
Always watch the following items regarding
the operation:
The unit is designed for indoor use only.
Protect the unit against humidity and heat.
The heat which is generated in the unit
has to be carried off via air circulation.
Therefore, the air vents of the housing and
the heat sink must not be covered.
Do not insert or drop anything into the air
vents! This could result in electric shock.
Do not take the unit into operation and
immediately take the mains plug out of the
mains socket if:
1. damage at the unit or mains cable can
be seen,
2. a defect might have occurred after a
drop or similar accident,
3. there are malfunctions.
The unit must in any case be repaired by
authorized skilled personnel.
A damaged mains cable must only be
repaired by the manufacturer or author-
ized skilled personnel.
Never pull the mains plug out of the mains
socket by means of the mains cable.
If the unit is used for purposes other than
originally intended, if it is not connected
properly, overloaded or not repaired by
authorized skilled personnel, there is no
liability for possible damage.
Only use a dry, soft cloth for cleaning, by
no means chemicals or water.
If the unit is to be put out of operation defi-
nitively, bring it to a local recycling plant for
disposal.
Important for U. K. Customers!
The wires in this mains lead are coloured
in accordance with the following code:
green/yellow = earth
blue = neutral
brown = live
As the colours of the wires in the mains
lead of this appliance may not correspond
with the coloured markings identifying the
terminals in your plug, proceed as follows:
1. The wire which is coloured green and
yellow must be connected to the termi-
nal in the plug which is marked with the
letter E or by the earth symbol
coloured green or green and yellow.
2. The wire which is coloured blue must
be connected to the terminal which is
marked with the letter N or coloured
black.
3. The wire which is coloured brown must
be connected to the terminal which is
marked with the letter L or coloured
red.
Warning - This appliance must be
earthed.
Setting into Operation
1)Plug the mains plug into a socket
(230 V~/50 Hz) provided with earthing
contact (SCHUKO) as carried out by
authorized personnel.
2) Connect the consuming device to the
jacks while watching the polarity:
red jack = positive pole
black jack = negative pole
3) Switch on the power supply with the
switch POWER. The red LED is lighting.
If due to a short-circuit or an overload
the foldback current limiting should re-
spond, the LED is only dim or dark. Then
immediately disconnect the consuming
device and remove the fault.
