1 Reception antennas
2 Power switch
3 Multifunction LC display (fig. 2)
a indication SCAN: flashes in the adjusting mode
"SCAN" (automatic frequency scanning)
b indication AF ("audio frequency") for the volume
of the audio signal received [independent of
volume control (6)]: the longer the bar graph, the
higher the volume level
c indication RF ("radio frequency") for the re -
ceived power of the radio signal: the longer the
bar graph, the better the reception
d battery status indication: indicates the charging
status of the batteries of the transmitter
e indication PEAK for the audio signal received:
should only shortly light up with signal peaks; if it
lights up permanently, the audio signal is over -
loaded
f indication FREQ.: flashes in the adjusting mode
"FREQ." (manual frequency adjustment)
g reception indication
the two receiving parts of the unit respectively
receives the more powerful radio signal.
h indication MUTE: indicates that the receiver is
muted because it receives either a radio signal
which is too poor or no radio signal at all
i indication of the frequency adjusted
4 Cursor keys for the frequency adjustment in the
modes "FREQ." ( : to increase the frequency, : to
reduce the frequency) and "SCAN" ( : frequency
scanning upwards, : frequency scanning down-
wards)
Outside the adjusting modes the key
activating and deactivating the lock function: keep
the key pressed until the display indicates
(locking on) or

for calling and exiting the adjusting modes
"FREQ." (manual frequency adjustment → chapter
5.1.1) and "SCAN" (automatic frequency scanning
→ chapter 5.1.2)
6 Volume control for the output level at the outputs
AF OUTPUT (9) and (10)
7 Strain relief for the supply line from the power sup-
ply unit
8 Power supply jack for connection of the supplied
power supply unit
9 Unbalanced output jack AF OUTPUT UNBAL.
(6.3 mm jack) for connection to a line input of a
mixer or amplifier
10 Balanced output AF OUTPUT BAL. (XLR) for
connecting a balanced microphone input of a mixer
or amplifier

2 Safety Notes

The units (receiver and power supply unit) correspond
to all required directives of the EU and are therefore
marked with
.
WARNING The power supply unit is supplied with
hazardous mains voltage (230 V~).
Never make any modifications on the
power supply unit. Inexpert handling
may cause an electric shock hazard.
It is essential to observe the following items:

The units are suitable for indoor use only. Protect
them against dripping water and splash water, high
air humidity, and heat (admissible ambient tempera-
ture range 0 – 40 °C).
G
Do not set the receiver into operation, or immedi -
ately disconnect the power supply unit from the
mains socket if
1. there is visible damage to the units or to the mains
supply cable,
2. a defect might have occurred after a drop or simi-
lar accident,
3. malfunctions occur.
The units must in any case be repaired by skilled
personnel.

A damaged mains cable of the power supply unit
must only be replaced by the manufacturer or by
skilled personnel.

Never pull the mains cable of the power supply unit
to disconnect the mains plug from the mains socket,
always seize the plug.
G
For cleaning only use a dry, soft cloth, by no means
chemicals or water.
G
No guarantee claims for the units and no liability for
any resulting personal damage or material damage
will be accepted if the units are used for other purpos -
es than originally intended, if they are not correctly
connected, operated, or not repaired in an expert way.

Important for U. K. Customers!
The wires in the mains lead of the power supply unit
are coloured in accord ance with the following code:
blue = neutral
brown = live
As the colours of the wires in the mains lead of this
appliance may not correspond with the coloured
markings identifying the terminals in your plug, pro-
ceed as follows:
1. The wire which is coloured blue must be con -
nected to the terminal in the plug which is marked
with the letter N or coloured black.
2. The wire which is coloured brown must be con -
nected to the terminal which is marked with the
letter L or coloured red.
If the units are to be put out of operation de -
finitively, take them to a local recycling plant
for a disposal which is not harmful to the envi-
ronment.
