TROUBLESHOOTING

The table includes some of the most common problems, their causes and remedies.
PROBLEM
No coating material
coming out of the nozzle
Coating material drips
from nozzle
Spraying too coarse
The spray jet emits
impulses
Too much vaporization
of the coating material
(overspray)

POSSIBLE CAUSE
The nozzle is blocked
Suction pipe is blocked
The hole in the suction pipe is
clogged
The spray control dial on the
material has turned too far toward
(-)
Suction tube is loose
No pressure build-up in the paint
can
The nozzle is loose
The nozzle is worn.
Accumulation of coating material
in the air cap and nozzle
The coating material has too high
a viscosity
Too much material, the spray
control dial has turned too much
to (+).
The nozzle is dirty
Very dirty air filter
Not enough pressure build-up in
the paint can
The coating material in the paint
container is running out.
The small hole in the suction tube
is blocked.
The air filter is very dirty
The distance to the object to be
sprayed is too great
Too much coating material applied
SOLUTION
Clean nozzle
Clean the suction pipe
Clean the suction pipe
Turn the regulator dial (+) clockwise
Tighten the tube
Tighten the paint can
Tighten the nozzle
Change nozzle
Clean air cap and nozzle
Dilute the coating material
Turn the sprayer control dial to (-)
Clean nozzle
Change the air filter
Tighten the paint can
Fill Paint Container
Clean the suction pipe orifice
Change the air filter
Reduce spray distance
Turn the knob on the media spray control to
position (-)
