Normal movement does not activate the brake
mechanism and is also not hampered as the
lifeline extends and retracts freely.
If you receive a sudden pull caused by a fall, the
lifeline will lock automatically. The mechanism
will stop the user before it reaches too fast in a
normal fall.
INSTALLATION
Select a point of rigid anchorage that meets
strength requirements for fall stop systems and
rescue.
According to ANSI z359.1, Anchorages selected
must have a strength capable of sustaining
static loads applied in the directions permitted
by the system.
- Fixing certificates no: 22 kn (5,000 lb)
- Fixing certificates: 2 times the maximum stop
force.
Note: when more than one personal fall
stop system is attached to an anchorage, the
strengths set forth above shall be multiplied
by the number of systems attached to the
anchorage.
INSTRUCCIONES DE OPERACIÓN
ANCHORAGE
Install self-retracting life line above head height.
Avoid working above 30 degree vertical. A fall
from more than 30 degrees vertically cause a
pendulum effect that can even cause lacerations
or even death to striking an obstruction.
A special line to anchor a self-retracting lifeline
below the shoulder height in case an area lift.
The aerial work platform must have a guardrail
system and a gate that can be closed unless
the anchorage level for online self-retracting
lifeline is on the head. The guardrail must be
continuous and smooth, and must not have
sharp edges. A suitably designed anchorage
must be available for each line of self-retracting
life as part of the platform.
RESTRICTIONS
When using the self-retracting life line, consider
the following limitations:
Not alter or add supplements the team.
Follow the manufacturer to properly use the self-
retracting life line and associated accessories.
Never add more length as fasteners, slings or
ropes, this practice is dangerous because it
leaves too much waste in the lifeline that, in
case of falling, increase the fall distance and
6
the impact load on the body leading them to
unacceptable levels.
Avoid entanglement not let pass between your
arms or legs while traveling or working.
Avoid dirt no contact paints, concrete, tar,
oil, etc., Which can enter the mechanism and
negatively affect it.
Always keep it clean and free of dirt, cement,
etc. Failure to do so could cause premature
locking and rewinding failure.
Taking off from self-retracting life line, do not
release it quickly so you no rewind uncontrollably
into the device. This could be dangerous; it is
also likely that the lifeline to rewind unevenly.
This can prevent complete retraction.
Do no extended for long periods.
Repair equipment to authorized personnel only.
Do not open the housing because the spring is
under tension.
Chemical hazards solutions containing acid
or caustic chemicals, especially when high
temperatures can damage the equipment.
When working with such chemicals, frequently
inspect the entire line of self-retracting lifeline.
If notice of damage caused by chemicals, auto
self retracting life line should be removed from
service.
Use extreme caution when using this equipment
around moving machinery or electrical hazards.
Have a plan to rescue when using this equipment,
please have the means to implement and notify
users, authorized persons and rescuers.
OPERATION AND USE
To check the proper functioning of the lifeline:
Pull the lifeline to fully extend and retract
slowly let his hand.
Try several times the locking mechanism by
pulling hard on the lifeline and ensuring that
the system locks.
Suspected fault, immediately remove from
service.
The self-retracting life line should always be
used with a full body harness. Never use seat
belts or any chest for fall stop hazards.
After connecting the fall stop device to a secure
anchor point, hold the snap hook end of the
lifeline to the harness back d-ring, ensuring that
the hook closes fully and locks.
In situations where it is necessary to use a front
d-ring fastening point, as when working on a
fixed ladder, use a harness with chest d-rings.
Refer to the applicable regulations.
