7. ENVIRONMENTAL RECOMMENDATIONS

1 - Disposal of Liquid Waste
Do not wash packaging containers or sprayers in ponds, fountains, rivers and other water bodies.
Properly dispose of packaging and any product remains. Follow the instructions usually contained in the agrochemical packaging.
2 - Apply only the recommended doses and restrict applications to the target area
Do not carry out the application of agrochemicals in areas located within a minimum distance of 500 metres from areas of captured groundwater of water destined for public supply,
and within 250 meters of water springs, isolated homes, livestock herds and crops susceptible to damage.
3 - Recommendations for decontamination, destruction and disposal of the Guarany knapsack sprayer
a) Decontamination of the tank and other components through which the chemicals have passed:
NOTE- Before sending the equipment for disposal/recycling processing, carry out the cleaning/decontamination process as described below.
1- During the washing procedure of the sprayer, the operator must use the following PPE - protective clothing against risks from chemicals (containing long sleeved top and trousers),
apron, waterproof gloves, waterproof boots and face visor;
2- The washing should be done in a ventilated area and on an impermeable floor;
3- Completely empty the contents of the sprayer tank into a plastic container;
4- Fill the sprayer with clean water up to 1/3 of its rated capacity, as recommended in the technical specifications;
5- Close the equipment lid and shake it for 30 seconds;
6- Evacuate the liquid from the tank through the spray nozzle, spraying for at least 1 minute, pouring the remainder out through the filler opening of the equipment and collect up all
the washing liquid in the same plastic container as that mentioned in item 3. OBS: this liquid should not be discarded in any way and whenever possible should be used in further
solutions/preparations of new mixtures;
7- This operation should be repeated 3 times before sending the spray equipment for the disposal/recycling process;
8- After the triple washing procedure, disable the plastic tank by piercing the bottom to prevent possible future use.
Waste disposal performed incorrectly can have an impact on the environment, causing significant changes in soil quality, in surface water, in groundwater, as well as on the health of the
local population.
