Operating the thermometer
8.1
Basic notes on operation
All the functions you set with the buttons only affect the temperature sensor whose read-
ings are shown on the main display.
If you want to set functions for the other temperature sensor, first swap the display area
from T1 to T2, see chapter "Displaying temperature differences" on page 26.
Example:
The main display shows the temperature readings from the T1 temperature sensor. You
switch the display to the maximum value with the MIN/MAX button. This is only for the
temperature from sensor T1.
You can swap the display area from T1 to T2 with the
the main display.
Now you can also see the maximum value for the T2 sensor with the Min/Max button.
➤ Set the type of thermal element correctly otherwise the temperature will not be meas-
ured correctly, see chapter "Setting the thermal element type" on page 23.
8.2
Inserting and removing the temperature sensor
➤ Insert the plug of the temperature sensor into the T1 and T2 socket on the hand device.
A
NOTICE! Beware of damage
Only remove the temperature sensor from the hand device with the plug.
I
NOTE
Make sure that the temperature sensor is firmly plugged into the LCD
thermometer.
If other temperature sensors are used as thermocouple type K, even small
temperature differences between the hand device and plug of the tempera-
ture sensor will cause measurement errors. Therefore, always wait until the
temperatures have equalised when you plug in the temperature sensor. This
can take up to 15 minutes, depending on the difference in temperature.
