Insert Batteries / Battery Display
Open battery box cover on backside of device.
Insert 3 AA-1,5V batteries into the battery holder as shown on the bottom of
holder. Replace the battery box cover on backside of device and close until you
hear a 'click'.
Turning on
To turn on the device, briefly press the I/O switch located on the backside of
panel. The display will flash and then show the number zero.
Recording
With the unit power turned on, press and hold the
record button (on back of unit) as you speak your
desired 'no bark' instruction into the microphone (on
front of unit) loud and clear. While speaking, hold the
Ricko unit so the microphone is within 2"-3" inches of
your mouth and speak for a maximum of 20 seconds.
The recording ends as soon as you release the button.
The unit will playback your recorded instruction and you
can re-record as many times as needed until you are
satisfied with the recording.

The device is now ready for use.
You can let your dog bark or clap your hands in order to verify functioning.
Following a clap or bark, you will hear your voice with the command you
recorded to calm down your dog. The bark display on the front of the unit will
also increase by one (1).
Adjusting volume of voice playback
The volume of voice playback can be adjusted with the knob for volume play-
back (this is the knob on the right side of the unit). Turning clockwise increases
volume ("louder"), turning counter-clockwise decreases volume ("quieter").
This voiceplay volume can be adjusted with the unit powered on. A small
screwdriver - located in a holder in the batterybox - should be used to adjust
both voice playback and bark detection.
Regulation of volume for detecting barks
The sensitivity at which the recorded voice will be released is also adjustable.
For small dogs and puppies a lower release volume is needed than for large
dogs which usually bark loudly. Turn the knob for volume of release in a
clockwise direction to select a sensitive triggering of your recorded voice for
small dogs and puppies. If you turn this knob counterclockwise, a less
sensitive triggering is set for loud and large dogs. When adjusting this
sensitivity, turn the knob to the desired level and then turn the unit off/on to
reset the unit to the new level. A small screwdriver - located in a holder in the
batterybox - should be used to adjust both voice playback and bark detection.
Please note: A sensitive release setting may result in the device being
activated by noises other than your dog's bark, so you should
also consider your dog's environment when selecting the setting
(for example, a less sensitive setting may be appropriate for an
apartment building).
Front Display
The display will tell you how many times your dog barked in your absence and
thus triggered the voice playback. The front display shows battery power level
