• For extra protection it is possible to fit the electric household installation with a fault current
breaker with a rated breaking current of not more than 30mA. Ask your electrician for advice.
• Make sure that there is no danger that the cord or extension cord may inadvertently be pulled or
cause anyone to trip when in use.
• If an extension cord is used it must be suited to the power consumption of the appliance,
otherwise overheating of the extension cord and/or plug may occur.
• This appliance is not suitable for commercial use nor for use in the open air.
• Never leave the appliance unattended while it is in use.
• Children cannot recognise the dangers involved in the incorrect use of electrical appliances.
Therefore never allow children to use household appliances without supervision.
• Always remove the plug from the socket when the appliance is not in use and each time before it
is cleaned.
• Danger! Nominal voltage is still present in the appliance as long as the appliance is connected to
the mains socket.
• Switch the appliance off before disconnecting from the mains.
• Never use the cord to carry the appliance.
SPECIAL SAFETY ADVICE
• Only use the water kettle with the supplied base station (6). Do not use the base station (6) for
other purposes.
• Never fill water into the water kettle while it is placed on the base station (6).
Always remove the water kettle from the base station (6) before filling.
• The water level must under no circumstances be above or below the respective markings of the
water level indicator MIN/MAX (8).
• Only fill the water kettle with cold water.
• Do not use the water kettle to heat other liquids except water.
• Caution: Danger, burns!
The water kettle becomes very hot during use. Hot steam emerges from the spout (9). Therefore,
only pick up the water kettle by its handle (3).
• Only use the water kettle with the lid (2) securely closed.
• Switch off the water kettle prior to removing it from the base station.
PRIOR TO FIRST USE
• Remove all packaging materials.
• Cleaning the water kettle before first use, fill it with clean water and boil at least 4 times in a row.
(see Use). Then, pour away water.
• Afterwards, clean the appliance as described under Cleaning and Maintenance.
USE
• Connect the power plug (7) to a suitable outlet.
• Remove water kettle from the base station (6).
• Pull the lid's unlocking device back and open the lid (2).
• Fill with the desired amount of water. While doing this, check the kettle's water level indicator
MIN/MAX (8). The water level must neither be below the minimum marking MIN nor above the
maximum marking MAX.
• Close the lid (2) until it locks into place.
• Place the water kettle on the base station (6).
• Switch the on/off switch I/0 (4) to the lower position. The operation display (5) lights up. The
appliance is switched on.
• The water kettle switches off automatically as soon as the water boils. The on/off switch I/0 (4)
switches off automatically. The operation display's (5) illumination goes off.
• The water can be poured out of the spout (9) without opening the lid (2). The filter (10) prevents
residues of calcium etc. from being poured out of the spout.
• To stop the device before boiling, switch the on/off switch I/0 (4) to the upper position.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
• In addition to this you must observe the Safety advice.
• Prior to cleaning the base station, always remove the power plug (7) from the outlet.
• Let the water kettle cool down completely before cleaning.
• Clean the outer case with a soft, moistened cloth and mild cleaning detergent.
• Never use abrasive cleaning agents or hard utensils.
• The filter (10) can be removed. Pull it upwards out of the grooves. Rinse the filter (10) with running
water. Put the filter into the water kettle until it securely locks into place.
• Regularly decalcify the appliance. For this, you may use a decalcifying agent (available at
specialist retailers); follow the manufacturer's instructions. Instead of the decalcifying agent you
can also use a vinegar solution - one third vinegar and two thirds water.
• Leave the mixture in the water kettle over night. Pour out mixture the next morning.
• Fill the kettle with fresh, clean water. Bring to the boil again.
• Pour our water with remaining vinegar and calcium residues.
• Rinse water kettle with clean water.

For the purchased device we provide 2 years guarantee, commencing from the day of sale. During
this period we will remedy all defects free of charge, which can be demonstrably attributed to
material or manufacturing defects, by repair or exchange.
Defects which arise due to improper handling of the device and malfunctions due to interventions
and repairs by third parties or the fitting of non-original parts, are not covered by this guarantee.
