BEFORE USING THE SOLDERING IRON
When the soldering iron is heated up for the for the first time a 'new' smell may be produced.
For this reason ensure that you heat the soldering up for the first time only in a well ventilated
place.
- Fit the soldering iron holder (3) to the soldering
stand (2) before you use the soldering iron for
the first time. Start by inserting the soldering
iron holder's locating pin A into the the slot
provided in the stand's housing B.
- After sliding the soldering iron holder (3) as
far as it will go into the hole, turn it clockwise
to fix it in place.
- For convenience the cleaning sponge (5) can be placed in the space provided on the soldering
stand (2). Moisten the soldering sponge (5) slightly before use.
- The soldering stand (2) is equipped with two adjustable workpiece holding clamps (7), which
are handy when working an wires and similar workpieces.

MAINS CONNECTION

The soldering iron is designed for use with single phase alternating current 230 V AC / 50 Hz
and is double-insulated. Make certain that the rated voltage stated on the soldering irons's
rating plate matches the local mains voltage.

SWITCHING ON AND OFF

- Connect the soldering iron to the mains to switch it on and to heat it up.
- Disconnect the soldering iron from the mains to switch it off and to cool it down.
Caution:
The soldering iron, the soldering tip and the soldering iron holder remain
hot for some time after disconnection from the mains!
