Prior to using your light, please read these instructions carefully. Keep
them safe to have them at hand at any time. If you pass the light on to
somebody else, always include these instructions.
1. Intended use
The PL 100D LED Panel Light is intended to be used exclusively for
the illumination of photo and video shots. It is not intended for house-
hold lighting.
Use the light only as described in these instructions. Any other use
has to be considered as not as intended and can result in material
damage or physical injury. This light is not a toy.
Kaiser Fototechnik takes no responsibility for damages caused by not
intended or incorrect use.
2. Safety instructions
Please observe the following safety instructions:
WARNING!
Disconnect the light from the mains when not in use or before clean-
ing.
Keep the light away from children.
Do not put the light into operation, if housing, cable or plug is dam-
aged.
Do not look directly into the light for a longer period of time, when it is
switched on.
Do not disassemble or modify the light. Repairs must only be carried
out by qualified persons.
CAUTION!
Only use the light with parts designed for it.
Keep the light away from water and other liquids and from combus-
tible materials.
Make sure that the light is not covered during operation.
Do not use or store the light at places with extremely high air humidity
or at extremely hot places. Keep the light away from long-standing
direct solar radiation.
Let the light cool down before boxing it.
3. Check light and scope of supply
When unpacking the light for the first time, please check if the scope of
supply is complete. It comprises:
- Lighting unit (1)
- Mains lead (11)
- 2 x spare fuse
Check also, if the light and the mains lead are damaged by extraneous
causes. Is this the case, do not take the devices into operation.
4. Attaching and tilting the light
The light has to be mounted on a suitable light stand or support with 16 mm
(5/8") standard spigot. Always take care of a safe stand: The center
column of a light stand should be in a vertical position. If the balance point
of the mounted light is outside the direction of the center column, then it
should be directed towards one of the legs of the stand.
Fit the fastening socket (5) on the standard spigot (fig. B) and lock it with
the screw (9). The light can also be operated upside-down in an overhead
position.
The light can be tilted backward and forward by 90° (fig. C). Hold the light
with one hand, loosen the wing screw (8) by rotating it counter-clockwise,
move the light to the desired position and fasten the wing screw (8) again.
5. Initial operation
Check that the mains voltage corresponds to the operating voltage given
on the light.
Take care that the light is switched off: the switch (2) has to be in the OFF
position. Then put the plug of the mains lead (11) into the socket (3) at the
back of the lighting unit (fig. D) and the mains plug into a mains socket.
Push the switch (2) in the ON position.
Brightness can be continuously adjusted by rotating the control dial (6).
Put the switch (2) in the OFF position, when the light is not in use.
The light is suitable for continuous operation.
6. Changing fuse
Pull out the mains plug before changing a fuse. The fuse can be
replaced after the fuse holder (7) has been unscrewed. The light must
only be run with the specified fuse (F 4 A).
7. Maintenance and care
The light is maintenance-free. Make sure that the front screen (10) is
free of stains and dirt. If necessary remove these before operation.
Clean the light with a soft dry cloth. On no account use petrol or other
solvents.
