packing. If you give this device to other people, please also pass
on the operating instructions.
The appliance is designed exclusively for private use
and for the envisaged purpose. This appliance is not fi t
for commercial use. Do not use it outdoors (except if it is
designed to be used outdoors). Keep it away from sources
of heat, direct sunlight, humidity (never dip it into any liquid)
and sharp edges. Do not use the appliance with wet hands.
If the appliance is humid or wet, unplug it immediately.
When cleaning or putting it away, switch off the appliance
and always pull out the plug from the socket (pull on the
plug, not the cable) if the appliance is not being used and
remove the attached accessories.
Do not operate the machine without supervision. If you
should leave the workplace, always switch the machine off
or remove the plug from the socket (pull the plug itself, not
the lead).
Check the appliance and the cable for damage on a regular
basis. Do not use the appliance if it is damaged.
Do not try to repair the appliance on your own. Always
contact an authorized technician. To avoid the exposure
to danger, always have a faulty cable be replaced only by

The baking surfaces and the lid become very hot (danger
of burns!). Only the handle should be held.
Put the unit down onto a heat-resistant surface or mat.
In order to prevent heat from building up, do not put the unit
directly underneath a cupboard. Ensure that there is enough
space all around.
Beware of steam coming out when you open the baking
section.
For this reason you should never use the device near or
below curtains and other combustible materials!

Starting-up the unit

Please read these operating instructions carefully and keep
them in a safe place. If you sell or give this article to other
people please also pass on these instructions.
Non-stick coating
Lightly grease the baking surfaces before the unit is used for
the fi rst time.
Use the appliance for about 10 minutes with the toasting
surfaces closed (see „Using the unit"). Then wipe it down
with a damp cloth.
Do not eat the fi rst waffl es.

Using the unit

1. Please unwind the lead completely.
2. Insert the plug in a duly installed 230 V/50 Hz protective
contact socket. The red control lamp lights up.
3. Set the temperature control to the desired level (for heating
usually level 5).
4. Keep the baking surfaces closed while heating. Once the
heating-up phase has ended both control lamps are on.
5. Open the lid and pour the dough in the middle of the baking
surface. To obtain even waffl es, spread the dough. Please
put in only enough dough so that the lower baking surface is
covered. The dough should be fi lled in quickly as otherwise
the wafers will not brown evenly.
6. Close the lid gently and keep it pressed together for a short
time. Be careful of the emitted steam, danger of burns.
7. The desired baking temperature can be set with the selector.
When the waffl es are dark enough, turn the selector to the
lowest level.
8. When the green control lamp goes off the baking process
is over (It can vary depending on the thickness and
consistency of the waffl es). The baking time depends on
your individual taste. Normal browning is achieved however
when the control lamp goes off again. The red control lamp
remains on to show that the device is working.
9. Open the lid and remove the waffl es with a wooden fork or
a similar tool. Do not use sharp objects to avoid ruining the
coating of the baking surface. Serve the waffl es on a tray or
in a disk and coat with some powdered sugar.
10. Lightly grease the baking surfaces again as required after
each baking process.
11. The baking surfaces must always be kept closed during
pauses in the baking.
12. To stop operation turn the thermostat to 0 (off) and then
remove the plug from the socket. The control lamps go off.
