Operation
Numbers in parentheses refer to the "Identification"
section of this manual.
1. Rotate the blade depth adjustment knob (3) to score
slightly less than the semi-con thickness to prevent
damage to the underlying insulation. Each line on
the adjusting knob dial represents 1 mil or 0.001" of
blade depth.
• Turn the adjusting knob counterclockwise to
increase the blade depth.
• Turn the adjusting knob clockwise until it stops to
set the blade to zero depth.

2. Depress the lever (6) to spread open the scoring tool
and place the tool at the desired strip length. See
figure below. Release the lever to close the tool on
the semi-con and penetrate the blade to the depth
set on the adjusting knob.
3. Rotate the tool around the circumference of the
cable in the counterclockwise direction to make the
square ring cut. See figure below. The scoring direc-
tions (7) are displayed on the lever of the tool.

4. Rotate the tool in the opposite direction around the
cable to make a spiral cut to the end of the cable.
See figure below.
5. Use long-nose pliers to grab the end of the spiral
score and peel off the semi-con layer. See figure
below.
