1. Preparations before installing
1.1 Determining the place of installation and the materials required
1. The safe and trouble-free operation of
the PRESSOL hose reel is directly
dependent upon the choice of a
suitable place of installation.
2. The hose reel can weigh up to 40 kg
when it is assembled, filled with the
substance to be pumped and in opera-
tion. The additional strain which results
when the hose is being pulled out of the
casing must also be taken into considera-
tion. When installing, make sure that
the surface it is to be mounted to is
stable and capable of bearing this load
and preferably made of concrete or
firm masonry. Thin wooden flooring,
plasterboard walls or suspended ceilings
are not suitable.
1.2 Removing the casing
(only for models with a casing)
Tools required: 8 mm ring- or open-ended spanner.
Take care that the hose has been completely rewound.
Unscrew both of the casing screws (8 mm spanner).
1
2
Open up the casing in the direction of the hose.
3
Remove the casing by pulling it upwards.
4
Put the casing carefully aside.
Take care! The edges of the casing which are now exposed
are sharp and there is a risk of injury!
1.3 Removing the mounting bracket/
supporting plate
(all models)
Tools required: 5 mm socket screw wrench.
1
Place the hose reel on its drum and wedge the hose (1)
under the drum in such a way that the former is in a
firm standing position.
2
Unscrew the countersunk socket-head screws (2) on the
left-hand and right-hand side of the mounting bracket.
3
Remove the mounting bracket by pulling it forwards.
Put it aside.
4
Put the drum aside.
Take care!
Do not let the drum fall over when you are working.
3
3. The surface must be level and the
drillholes for the fastening screws must
correspond exactly with the holes in the
supporting plate/mounting bracket. If
this is not the case, it may lead to tension
and perfect running cannot be
guaranteed.
4. Select screws and dowels of sufficient
size for fastening purposes.
5. You will require the following tools for
the installation:
1 x 5 mm socket-screw wrench
(Allen key),
1 x 8 mm open-ended or ring spanner,
2 x 17 mm open-ended or ring spanner,
1 x 22 mm open-ended spanner,
1 x 32 mm open-ended spanner,
1
pencil to mark the position of the
drillholes, spirit level, electric percussion
drill, the required bits, and, if necessary,
a ladder.
6. Before you begin with the installation,
make sure that all the materials and
tools you require are close at hand.
7. If the hose reel is to be mounted to the
ceiling you will also require an angle
bracket with which the upper, sloping
edge of the mounting bracket can be
secured. In this case, the step 1.4
"Separating the supporting plate and
the mounting bracket" does not apply.
