1. EQUIPMENT DESCRIPTION
Feed water for the OSMOTIC comes from the cold water pipe. Water enters into the first treatment
phase through the entry valve (3).
-Entry solenoid valve (5): The electrically operated valve closes when the water level in the tank (15)
reaches its maximum and opens as the level falls.
-Sediment pre-filter (8): This filter consists of a cartridge that removes particles in suspension whose size
is over 5 micron, and protects the activated carbon filter (9).
-Activated carbon filter (9): For hygienic reasons, feed water almost always contains a small chlorine
concentration (Cl). The chlorine disadvantages are the bad taste and smell. The activated carbon
completely removes the taste and smell and protects the reverse osmosis membrane (10), which is
sensitive to chlorine.
-Reverse osmosis membrane (10): A polyamide (TFC) membrane. This is where water is separated from
the majority of its salts, producing a concentrated flow and a permeated flow. The concentrated pulls
the saline content, which passes through the flow control valve (22) and the check valve (23).Permeated
water remains free from pollutants and is stored in the pressurized storage tank (15).
-Remineralizing postfilter (11): This filter has the function of removing the possible residual taste that
can remain from the water flow through the RO membrane and regulates the output water &
remineralization of water with calcium and magnesium salts.
-Level probe (13): The entry solenoid valve (5) is controlled through the level and security control probe,
opening or closing it, and in its lower level disconnecting the pump (17).
-UV-C lamp (14): Sequentially activated sterilises the water in the storage tank.
-Tank (15): The already treated water is stored here. The osmotized water tank has a total capacity of 10
liters with an usable capacity of 8 liters.
-Pump (17): The osmotized water from the storage tank (15) is pumped through the pump to the faucet
(28). The pump is switched on by opening the faucet.
-Waste pipe connection kit (21): Connects the concentrate outlet to the drain.
-Flushing solenoid valve (22): The system is pre-adjusted, so that the temporized electromagnetic
solenoid valve performs a flushing of the reverse osmosis membrane every 5 hours, to increase its life
time and get better the quality of the water. At the same time it controls the concentrate flow to drain.
-Electronic circuit (24): This module guarantees a correct operation of the system. It controls:
a) Water quality inside the prefixed limits.
b) OSMOTIC can be blocked when the prefixed working hours have been exceeded. Please call an
authorized technician to replace the filters.
c) Control the pump operation in the minimum permeate water level.
-Faucet (28): Osmotized water outlet ready to be used.
-Transformer (27): Electrical connection at 12 V.
-Pressure reducer (29): has the function to absorb the pressure oscillation.
