08.5 SHORT FLASH DURATION FP (FLAT PEAK)
Fast movement is hard to focus on (e.g. a snowboarder during his jump) because the
time the fl ash is emitting light is too long. Normally the fl at peak of studio fl ashes
is about 1/500s.
This causes motion blur. The DÖRR DMX-600 off ers 5 diff erent settings with fl at
peak. Independent of aperture setting this allows to freeze fast movement and re-
ceive a sharp image.
Settings of short fl at peak can only be made with DÖRR DMX fl ash trigger:
Press control key 5 (13) until FP is shown in display. The FP time setting can be made
for each group separately.

Flash A:
Highlight FP time with control key 1 (9) then adjust FP time with control key 1 (9)
and control key 5 (13).
Flash B:
Highlight FP time with control key 2 (10) then adjust FP time with control key 2 (10)
and control key 6 (14).
Flash C:
Highlight FP time with control key 3 (11) then adjust FP time with control key 3 (11)
and control key 7 (15)
Confi rm setting with confi rmation button (21). The fl ash trigger saves the setting
automatically, when no input is made for 5 seconds.
Which FP setting is most suitable for your motif you may fi nd out by testing. Fol-
lowing FP times are possible to set:

Note
The shorter the FP of your fl ash, the less fl ash power is possible to set. The set-
ting FP allows short fl at peak for fast image sequences e.g. sportive shots. Set
your camera to continuous shooting mode.

09 | CLEANING AND STORAGE

Never use aggressive cleansing agents or benzine to clean the device. We recom-
mend a soft, slightly damp microfi ber cloth to clean the outer parts of the device.
Turn off the device and remove batteries before cleaning. Store the device in a dust-
free, dry and cool place. This device is not a toy - keep it out of reach of children.
Keep away from pets..
