Operation with remote automatic switching (see figure B)
A socket outlet with earthing contact 5 is integrated in the
vacuum cleaner, which allows for connection of an external
power tool. The vacuum cleaner is automatically put into op-
eration via the power tool. Observe the maximal allowable
load of the connected power tool.
Set the mode selector switch 4 to the operation with remote
automatic switching symbol.
For connecting power tools, various hose systems are availa-
ble as accessories.
To start the operation of the vac, switch on the power tool
connected to the socket 5. The vacuum cleaner starts auto-
matically.
To switch off the vac, switch off the power tool. The vacuum
cleaner switches off automatically approx. 6 seconds later.
Electromagnetic filter cleaning
The machine is equipped with an electromagnetic filter clean-
ing system, which removes dust adhering to the folded filter
12.
The filter cleaning system must be actuated latest when the
vacuuming performance is no longer sufficient.
Set the mode selector switch 4 to the symbol electromagnet-
ic filter cleaning. A possibly connected power tool must be
switched off.
The machine vibrates for approx. 10 seconds and switches
off automatically.
Wait shortly before restarting the vacuuming operation so
that the dust can settle in the container.
The filter cleaning frequency depends on the type and amount
of dust. With regular usage, the maximum vacuuming per-
formance is maintained longer.
Wet Vacuuming
Do not vacuum inflammable or explosive fluids; for ex-
ample, benzene, oil, alcohol, solvents. Do not vacuum
hot or burning dust. Do not operate the machine in
rooms where the danger of an explosion exists. The
dusts, vapours or fluids can ignite or explode.
The vacuum cleaner may not be used as a water pump.
The vacuum cleaner is intended for vacuuming air and wa-
ter mixtures.
Before any work on the vacuum cleaner itself, pull the
mains plug.
Note: Before wet vacuuming, the dust bag 11 must be re-
moved and the container 9 must be emptied.
The machine is equipped with level sensors 14. The vac
switches off when the maximum filling height is reached. Set
the mode selector switch 4 to off.
After vacuuming, remove the folded filter 12 in order to avoid
mildew, and allow it to dry thoroughly, or remove the vacuum
lid 3 and allow it to dry.
Bosch Power Tools
Application Possibilities
The vacuum cleaner is suitable for vacuuming and extracting
the following materials:
– Fine dusts below the general dust limit value of 3 mg/m
– Dusts of mineral materials with aluminium hydroxide
– Graphite dusts
– Aluminium dusts
– Paper dusts
– Soot dusts
– Powder-paint dusts
– Polyurethane dusts
– GFRP dusts based on epoxy resin, see manufacturer's data
sheet on safety
– CFP dusts based on epoxy resin, see manufacturer's data
sheet on safety
The vacuum cleaner may generally not be used in rooms
where the danger of an explosion exists.

Maintenance and Service

Maintenance and Cleaning
Before any work on the vacuum cleaner itself, pull the
mains plug.
For safe and proper working, always keep the vacuum
cleaner and ventilation slots clean.
If the replacement of the supply cord is necessary, this has to
be done by Bosch or an authorized Bosch service agent in or-
der to avoid a safety hazard.
If the vacuum cleaner should fail despite the care taken in
manufacturing and testing procedures, repair should be car-
ried out by an after-sales service centre for Bosch power
tools.
In all correspondence and spare parts order, please always in-
clude the 10-digit article number given on the type plate of
the machine.
Removing/Replacing the Folded Filter (see figure C)
Replace a damaged folded filter 12 immediately.
– With a coin or similar, rotate the lock 6 by 1/4 turn in the
direction of the arrow and push the lock in.
– Fold up the vacuum lid 3 and hold it. Grasp the folded filter
12 by the fins, pull up and remove.
– Clean the folded filter 12.
– Insert new or cleaned folded filter 12 and ensure firm seat-
ing.
– Fold the vacuum lid 3 down again. With slight pressure
from above on the cover, the lock 6 will snap back again.
Container
Wipe out the container 9 from time to time with a commercial-
ly available, non-scouring cleaning agent and allow to dry.
Motor Protection Filter (see figure B)
The motor protection filter 13 is basically maintenance- free.
Take out the motor protection filter from time to time and
flush it with clear water. Allow the motor protection filter to
dry thoroughly before reinserting.
