Loosen the tension screw and then remove the 2 arm mount-
ing bolts.

Remove the pulley cover along its rail.

Loosen the clutch cover bolts and then remove the clutch
cover.

Remove the old belt and then remove the cutter arm.
6.
Put the new belt on the small pulley.
7.
While pulling the belt in the direction of the cutter, install the
clutch cover and fasten it with its bolts.
8.
Fit the cutter arm into the long hole in the crankcase and
then put the belt on the large pulley.
9.
Put the pulley cover on along the outside of the cutter arm.
Make sure the pulley cover is not misaligned when putting it
into the arm.
10. Tighten the 2 arm mounting bolts and then back them off
about 1 turn. Adjust the tightness of the belt. (See page 30.)
11. Tighten the 2 arm mounting bolts. Note: Tighten to a torque
of 23 to 27N•m (230 to 270 kgf•cm).
12. Insert the water-flush pipe into the pipe connector.
13. The belt stretches after being replaced, so readjust its ten-
sion after operating the machine.
