General information
1.1
Safety and security
For all work, the relevant accident prevention regulations according to BGV C22 must be observed.
Furthermore, the relevant regulations and standards such as DIN 18300 "Earthworks" and DIN 4124 "Ex-
cavations and trenches" must be observed during installation, assembly and repair.
Whenever work is carried out on the system or system components, the entire system must always be
taken out of operation and secured against unauthorised restart.

Transport & storage
The GRAF vortex flow control shafts VS-Control External are packaged project-specifically. Usually the
individual parts of the vortex flow control shafts are located on several pallets. The individual parts must
then be assembled on site.
The transport can be carried out by forklift truck or similar up to the place of installation. At the installation
site, the vortex flow control shafts can be moved by hand or by light equipment.
During intermediate storage, a suitable surface (flat and firm) must be ensured. Outdoor storage should
not exceed one year. In addition, the impact sensitivity of the elements increases with decreasing tem-
perature, so that shocks can lead to damage to the elements, especially during frost.
1. General information
If there is a risk of frost or wetness, there is an increased risk of slipping
when entering the system!
GRAF offers an extensive range of accessories, which are all matched to
each other and can be expanded to complete systems. The use of accesso-
ries not approved by GRAF leads to the exclusion of the warranty.
Before installation, the vortex flow control shaft and its accessories must be
checked for damage. Damaged or faulty parts must not be installed. In
case of doubt contact GRAF.
