7. Assembly

1. First check all parts of the device and lay them out
on the floor in front of you. (Fig. 3)
2. Fit the depth regulator mounting (G) on the frame
of the motor hoe. To do so, first loosen the two
screws (M12 x 60), the nuts, the flat washers and
the spring washers from the connector system on
the machine. Now bolt it securely to the machine.
(Fig. 4)
3. Using the three screws (M8 x 16), the nuts and
the spring washers, fasten the handlebar moun-
ting (bottom) (I) onto the installed depth regulator
mounting (G). (Fig. 5)
4. Fit both wheels (C) onto the depth regulator with
wheel mounting, by removing the two split pins
and the flat washers. Fit the wheels on the wheel
mounting and fasten these in reverse. (Fig 6)
5. Subsequently insert the depth regulator (13)
through the depth regulator mounting (G) fitted on
the device, and secure it at the desired height with
the bolt and spring split pin. (Fig. 7)
6. Using the four screws (M8 x 35) in the handlebar
mounting (bottom) (I), the flat washers and spring
washers, attach the handlebar mounting (top) (D)
to the handlebar mounting (bottom). (Fig. 8)
7. Fasten the handlebar to the top handlebar moun-
ting (D) with the four pre-assembled screws (M8 x
45), flat washers and nuts. To do so, loosen these
and fasten the handlebar with crossbar in reverse
order. Make sure that the two tension cables are
located on the correct side respectively. (Fig. 8)
8. Remove the side guard (10) on the blades by
removing the two fastening bolts and spring split
pins. Subsequently attach the two blade extensi-
ons (E) with the additional bolts and spring split
pins supplied. Fasten the side guard again using
the bolts and spring split pins. Attach the two
blade guard extensions (F) using the 6 screws (M8
x 16) supplied. (Fig. 9/10/11)
Filling with engine oil
m ATTENTION! THE ENGINE OIL HAS BEEN
DRAINED FOR TRANSPORT.
The engine may be permanently damaged and the
engine warranty voided, if the engine sump is not
filled with oil before the engine is started (see engine
handbook).
Filling with transmission oil
Attention! The transmission oil has been drained for
transport.
The transmission may be permanently damaged and
the transmission warranty voided, if the transmission
is not filled with oil before starting up.

8. Function

Forward Steering Lever (6)
Push down to engage tines into forward, releasing
returns machine to neutral.
Throttle Lever (4)
It controls engine speed. Moving the throttle lever in
the directions shown makes the engine run faster or
slower.
Wheel (16)
The spring locks wheel bracket at different height
and distance from the tines. Pull the spring-connect-
ed wheel bracket downwards to raise the wheel in
the upper groove when tilling. Set the wheel down
when transporting the tiller. Tilt the machine back
until the tines clear the ground. Push or pull the unit
to the next location.
Depth Regulator Rod (9)
It regulates the tilling depth and helps the operator
control the direction and speed of the tiller.
Insert the depth regular rod in the groove at the rear
of the chassis, with the pointed end downward and
the notched side outward.
Lowering the depth regulator rod will slow the tiller
and make it till deeper. Raising the depth regulator
rod will allow it to move faster and till shallower.
To adjust the tilling depth:
1. Remove the cotter pin.
2. Raise or lower the depth regulator rod to the de-
sired position.
3. Replace the cotter pin.

9. Operation

9.1 Adding fuel
Fill the fuel tank as instructed in the separate Engine
Manual.
9.2 Starting engine
The controls required to start and run the tiller are
located on the engine and are marked "CHOKE"
and "THROTTLE". Throttle can be adjusted by the
throttle control lever (4) mounted on the right upper
handle through a control cable.
Cold start
1. Turn choke lever on the engine to full choke posi-
tion.
2. Set the throttle lever at half way position.
3. Pul l the starting rope slowly several times to allow
the gasoline to flow into the engine's carburetor.
Then hold the start handle firmly and pull the rope
out for a short distance, until you feel some resist-
ance. Then pull the rope smoothly and briskly,
and allow the rope to return gently. Do not let the
rope snap back. If necessary, pull the rope several
times until the engine starts.
4. Allow the engine to run for several seconds to
warm up. Then, gradually move choke lever to
"OPEN" position and adjust the throttle control to
desired speed.
5. Grip the handles firmly with both hands. Squeeze
down on the clutch control lever - this will engage
the tines and move the tiller in a forward direction.
Warm start
Restarting an engine that is already warm from
previous running does not normally require use of
the choke.
1. Set the throttle lever at half way position.
2. Hold the start handle firmly and pull the rope out
for a short distance, until you feel some resist-
ance. Then pull the rope smoothly and briskly, and
allow the rope to return gently. Do not let the rope
snap back.
