SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR PLANERS
• Once the work has been completed, the machine
should be allowed to come to a complete stop before it
is placed on any surface.
• Always keep the mains lead clear of the working range
of the machine.
• Hold the machine firmly in both hands and in a stable
position.
• The brush should always be guided into place with
both hands.
• Fixes the piece being worked in place using fastening
devices. Special attention must be paid to small work-
pieces, it should be checked that as the plane comes
close, they are not pulled out by the moving blades.
• Check for correct piece fixing before commencing any
operation.
• Fingers should be kept clear of chip expulsion hole M.
If this should become obstructed, it can be cleared
using a wooden dowel.
• A protective face mask must be employed in any work
producing harmful dust. Material containing asbestos
must not be worked.
• The plane should only be brought into contact with the
work-piece after it has been switched on.
• Lean the machine by its front base and start it before
the blade touches the wood.
• During the planing operation, the machine must always
be supported over the total surface.
• Check that during the operation, the base plate is
completely supported on the working surface.
• Do not plane wood with metallic objects incrusted,
nails, staples, etc.
• When working with the machine, always wear
safety goggles and ear protection. Other personal
protection equipment such as dust masks, gloves,
helmet and apron should be worn when necessary,
along with non-slip safety footwear. If in doubt, use
safety equipment.
• WARNING! Before each use, inspect the plug and
lead. Should they need replacing, have this done by an
official service centre.
Residual risks
Even when the power tool is used as prescribed it is
not possible to eliminate all residual risk factors.
The following hazards may arise in connection with
the power tool's construction and design:
Damage to lungs if an effective dust mask is not worn.
Damage to hearing if effective hearing protection is not
worn.
Damages to health resulting from vibration emission if
the power tool is being used over longer period of time
or not adequately managed and properly maintained.
