ONNECTION
The product is supplied complete with:
• power supply cable with plug;
• data connector for wired connection to the control console when wireless communication is not used.
Connection to the electrical power system
3.1.1
Connect the scoreboard cable power plug to the electrical power system socket.
There must be a power switch device (isolating switch) in the electrical system in order to switch off the
scoreboard when it is not being used or while under maintenance. The power switch device must:
• conform with federal/state installation regulations;
• be a double pole type to ensure separation between Line and Neutral;
• have a distance between contacts which ensures the complete disconnection of the power supply network
under conditions of overvoltage category III;
• be easily accessible.
The scoreboard must be connected to a grounding system via the power supply cable and in compliance with the
technical regulations of the country where it is installed.
Data communication with the control console
3.1.2
Wireless communication
Wireless communication is possible only when the control console is designed for this type of connection.
If you bought the scoreboard together with the console, the scoreboard will be delivered already associated and
ready to use.
Otherwise, if you have to add another scoreboard to an existing system, carry out the association as indicated in
the console User Manual. The scoreboard uses FS2 radio protocol. The scoreboard uses FS2 radio protocol.
Wired communication
If you decide to carry out the data connection by cable or if the control console does not allow any wireless
connection, you have to connect the scoreboard to the console through a Cat. 5 UTP or Cat. 6 UTP,
standard straight-through network cable (EIA/TIA-568A/B).
Connect the previously prepared data cable to the console and to the scoreboard data cable.
If you have to connect more than one scoreboard to the same console, you can freely choose the type of
connection you prefer: star, backbone, tree, etc.. seeFig. 3.1. Cable shunt points can be obtained with standard
male-female RJ45 splitters (art. 0014-0360). Each console output can control up to 8 scoreboards at a distance of
200m.

If you have tailor-made cables or in environments where the presence of electric devices may cause disturbances
(such as electric motors, compressors, air conditioners, inverters, radio links, etc.), it is advisable to connect each
cable conductor as indicated in Fig. 3.2.
Avoid passing the cable through the same cable conductor used for the power grid cables.
