To protect the coating of the cooking plate, always use a plastic or wooden spatula. Check that the
appliance is unplugged before cleaning.
The cooking plates, tray and body of the appliance can be cleaned with a cloth, hot water and washing-up
liquid.
Cooking fumes may be dangerous for animals with a particularly sensitive respiratory system, such as birds.
We advise bird owners to keep them away from the cooking area.
On first use, a slight odour or some smoke may be produced.
WHAT NOT TO DO
Never plug in the appliance when not in use.
Never use the appliance when empty.
To avoid the appliance overheating, do not place it in a corner or against a wall.
Never place your appliance directly on a fragile surface (glass table, tablecloth, varnished surface, etc.) or
on a plastic tablecloth.
Do not place your appliance on or near slippery or hot surfaces and do not leave the cord hanging over a
heat source (electric hob, gas burners, etc.).
Do not place any cooking utensils on the cooking surfaces of the appliance.
Do not cut the waffles directly on the plates or on the tray.
Never use metal scourers or scouring powder so as not damage the cooking surface (e.g. non-stick
coating, etc.).
Do not put the appliance and its cord in the dishwasher. Never immerse the appliance or the lead in water.
Never heat up the appliance in the vertical position.
Do not press the locking button (i) when the appliance is in the open position.
Do not press the locking button (i) during cooking or when the appliance is heating. Do not attach the tray
under the appliance during cooking or when it is heating.
Do not rotate the appliance with the magnetic tray under the cover.
